Let me comment on this unofficially ;) We were told to be lenient with the elite customers bags if they did not fit in the sizer but fit in the overhead. Also we only really only use the sizer at the gate if there is a disagreement over the size of the bag.

CO's Policy as stated on the web site makes no reference to the sizer. It only refers to the overall linear size of 45" and 40 lb.weight (efffective 11/1/08 for domestic travel).
Mrs. SG's carry on fits the sizer so she has no problem. My carry on does not fit the sizer but fits into all overhead bins and the manufacturers specifications state that it is 43" linear. I have a copy of the CO Policy and the manufacturers specs in my travel pack since I have no intention of dealing with the sizer. |
