Elite Upgrades

Was on flight 164 from IAH to ORD. I am a platinum on a L class and I did not get upgraded but my co-worker who is Silver on S class received the upgrade. How is that possible if silver is under platinum?

Does this system have a flaw?

Many many threads on the MANY problems with EUA, all of which were fixed recently.

Well we can see that the fix did not work since Silver got upgraded before Platinum.

That is indeed strange. Are you sure your co-worker didn't use miles to upgrade, as a silver "purchasing" an upgrade with miles in advance of the flight would trump a Platinum on an L fare. If not, you might send a Private Message to CO Insider with details regarding what happened, and see what his response is. Let us know what the outcome is.

He did not upgrade with miles since we originated from LAX and LAX-IAH was not upgraded but system upgraded him from IAH-ORD.

Well, at least the EUA process worked on my PHL-IAH flight. Three Plats upgraded @ 5 days out. A bunch of people on the upgrade list until the day of and eventually upgraded at the gate.

I was not upgraded at check-in.

Sounds like the bug in the EUA system.

Details needed. When did he get word of the upgrade? Did you guys check in at different times? Via different methods? Were your reservations somehow different (e.g., was his two separate segments/flights and did yours have both flights on the same PNR)?

We are on seperate reservations and we cancelled at different times, he checked in about 2 hours before I did online. The upgrade was processed two days before the flight.

Canceled? Nothing in the OP (Original Post) about canceling.

A Silver was upgraded > 24 hours before his flight?
