Does BF Often Have Empty Seats?
I'm flying on BF from EWR-BRU this evening and I was just curious.... Does BF normally fill up to capacity or is it common for there to be some empty seats? I'm seated in 6D, the middle seat right now but I'm somewhat tempted to move my seat to a window seat in a row that is completely open.... But I guess the odds of having an empty seat next to me is probably slim anyway......

You are probably right... I think I'll stay where I'm at.

Why would you voluntarily stay in a middle seat - any middle seat - when there was a window seat open in BF?

Never flew in BF before... But from all the reading I have done on this board and from looking at seatguru those middle seats by themselves look interesting.... nobody on either side of you. And I figured most of the flight is over water anyway so there won't be anything exciting to look at..... But if you think I'm wrong, I'll be gald to hear what you have to say.

Since summer is usually a slower month for business travel, BF is often a bit light going to Europe (some exceptions of course).
I'd stick with the middle seat for now and keep an eye out for an empty pair after the boarding process has finished.

Actually my experience is that there are often empty seats in BF to europe in the summer.
India/asia may well be different, I have no experience there.

Just as an FYI...tonight's flight shows 27 of 35 booked in BF with one person on the upgrade standby list. While not completely full, that is enough where most of the seats will be taken and the chances of taking a window seat and then the aisle getting filled at check-in are pretty high.
In my opinion, stick to 6D. YMMV.

I actually dont like the middle seat because there is a lack of privacy. Also, sometimes in the middle seat it is easy to get bumped and/or nudged by people and/or baggage when people are walking in the aisles. Furtheremore, once i saw a person have their pre-flight drink knocked over on to their lap by a Y class passenger's shoulder bag as they walked to the back of the cabin.
My suggestion is to take a window seat and once the door closes, move to another row if there are two empy seats together.

Sorry
hadn't paid attention to the fact that this was on a 767, I was thinking 777 where you would have a person on each side of you. 6D isn't such a bad choice at all...!

Oh, ok... thanks.... I think this is what I am going to do. Keep the middle seat and if I don't think it's better than a window seat when I make my return trip next week I'll try to get a window seat then... ^

CO's 772 config up front is 2-2-2 so there is still no middle seat.
To the OP, try checking the PDA site to see if you can get a number of booked seats as opposed to what the seat map shows. Or ask in the PC about a window with an empty aisle. No guarantees either way, but you never know. You can also just wait until the door closes and move if you see an empty pair.

Even then, the D/E seats are better, because he wouldn't have to climb over someone each time he wanted to get out of his seat.
