9 CRCs Are Closing!

Forgive me if this was already posted here, but this is really bad news for CO flyers and warrants a posting in this forum.

Closing CRC's beginning in May:
-BOS (Main Term)
-SEA
-HNL
-SJU
-PHX
-DEN
-LGW
-MCI
-CVG B/E lounge

In addition DL is consolodating all remaining B/E lounges into CRC's.

A number of these cities will no longer have any Skyteam lounge.

LGW also has the EK club which is open to PC members. SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers are going to be out of luck.

Doesn't bother me at all.
I signed up for PCs.
In my opinion CRCs suck.
Check out the CRC in MIA, what a gem

SJU- Different terminal than CO
SEA- Different terminal than CO
DEN- Different terminal than CO
HNL-Okay
CVG- Okay
BOS- No club anymore
LGW- No club anymore
MCI- No club anymore
PHX- No club anymore

BOS and MCI are the only real CRCs that will impact PC members as all of the other ones are in different terminals/ concourses.

Thankfully, you're wrong about BOS. Delta in fact has two CRCs in Terminal A. One in the main terminal, the other in the satellite. The one in the satellite will remain open, as far as I know. While this means that we'll have to use the tunnel to get to the CRC from CO gates, and is decidedly less convenient, at least there is still a club.

It is not a long walk from the CRC to the PC in SJU and it is all inside security so I can see many DL CRC members using the small and intimate PC in SJU. It really is a great little club.

How so? CO has the Internet over DL, but other than that, they're fairly comparable.

CO flights leave from a different terminal then DL flights at MCI. Also, with the way security is set up at MCI and the location of the CRC, it made ZERO sense for anyone flying CO in MCI to go to the CRC. This is no big loss for MCI. The handful of times I have used the CRC while flying DL out of MCI, there were maybe 10 people, if that, there.

All of them? I've been in some rather nice ones -- including BOS and SEA, which unfortunately are closing. I don't think it really impacts me as primarily a CO flyer, but I did fly SEA-JFK on DL recently in Biz when they had a better flight time than CO. Apparently the Biz ticket on a transcon gets you access to the lounge, though my Amex Plat card would have worked as well. In any event, the lack of a convenient lounge going forward will be one strike against using DL on this route in the future (another strike being the awful catering, particularly compared to CO's transcon extravaganzas).

Personally, as a CRC member, I prefer the CO lounge options - much better food options (bagels/English muffins in the morning are great), many more newspapers available, better magazines and no need to get a T-Mobile card to get online.

As for the DL CRC in MIA, DL will be opening a new CRC there in the next few months to replace the current (and rather poor) CRC there.

I am sorry to see the CR in SEA go--I liked that new club. The PC is, in my experience, almost always full. The Boardroom is nice.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D052; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)

Has a reason for the clubs closing been posted?

The one that I'm most bothered with is BOS.

LGW makes sense as DL moves along with everyone else over to LHR. Its hard to believe that DL isnt planning on having any Club at LHR, makes sense for DL/NW/CO to do it together as a ST Lounge

There will be a joint lounge operated by SkyTeam at LHR. It is scheduled to open later this year, once construction is completed.
