Ok so it seems that this is a problem with more than just one ship. It was definitely the new AVOD system and I didn't report it because I never actually tried the call button myself -although I was pretty sure it was one of the causes given the almost immediate cut-in following the call bell. For awhile I kind of thought the male and female F/A may have been making some more than normal use of the interphone (if you know what I mean) contributing to the frequency of the interruptions. I think the pilots can hear the interphone so I kind of dismissed that.
In any case, the wiring set-up of that whole system seems a bit messed up (hopefully not dangerous) and needs a look ASAP.
