757 Avod
On ship 106 today from GLA to EWR the new AVOD choices were great. But---- it seemed that everytime someone would ring the F/A call button it would interrupt the showing as a PA announcement. In addition to the times there were actually announcements or when I could see the F/A's were using the interphone the program must have been interrupted 50 times during the flight. Seems like a funny way for it to be wired if that's what's happening. Anyone had the pleasure? - search was down....

it sounds like a glitch to me. I hope you reported this to the FA. I've seen it where the system was not interrupted by a PA announcement.

Same ship, same problem EWR - MCO
Interesting, I was on ship #106 from EWR to MCO this afternoon. I had AVOD fired up in F but was working on my laptop so I wasnt paying too much attention. There where several mystery "PA Anouncments" that would pause the A/V without any actual anouncement. I didnt notice a cause and effect but did notice that the domestic crew had a lot of trouble getting the "Larry" video fired up, so I wrote the whole thing off to inexperience with the system.

I too was on the same bird on to MCO in 4E and noticed they had to fire Larry up about 3x. I came in on CO 17 and they used the same ship at C120 for CO 37 to MCO. I noticed the unscheduled PA's continued on that leg as well which prompted my question. I had 7.5 hours of it from GLA and another 2.5 to MCO.... I'm glad someone else noticed it signaling that I'm not crazy - something had to be out of order.

Yesterday on Ship 122
They had to reboot several times before they could get the avod system to start playing the videos .
i just stared at the Linux Penguin on the screen while it booted up a couple of times.

Edit: All 752s have AVOD in BF. #122 doesn't have AVOD in coach yet, but has it in BF.

Maybe i have the wrong ship number
i got ship number 122 from the pda site when looking at the upgrade list , never looked at the actual number on the wheel door
My upgrade cleared so i did not happen to check out the back

There were reports of ship 130 doing the same when if first came out and the AVOD was a complete mess when I was on ship 130 in December.

Ship 106 is the most recent conversion, IIRC, so this may be an error in the way it was put in to service. Hopefully CO will fix it at the next maintenance window, assuming they see this thread and/or you reported it as a problem during the flight.

I had ship 130 in Dec from MAN to EWR and it did the same thing in Y the system would puase everytime there was a passenger call button and when the FAs would call another galley station. It was pretty annoying. Hopefully they fixed ship 130 by now at least. But besides that its a great system!

I was on 130 Sunday, same problem. I was too tired to try and figure out what was going on.
