I think you do. The morning flight out of SEA shouldn't be delayed, so you should arrive on-time or early into IAH. Take the TerminaLink train from C or E (whichever is closest to your arrival gate - print out an IAH map or take the inflight magazine) to B, where your second flight departs. It may take up to 20 minutes for the transit, but often a little less.

Thanks ... we may try and "plead our case" and ask to go on the 6:20 AM flight out of SEA. This is due to a schedule change that took our connection time from 70 minutes to 40.
If we do miss the next IAH-BJX then the next flight isn't till 9PM and it puts us into our final destination ( San Miguel) at 2AM....

I misconnected last Fri morn, if all went OK it was a 1/2 hr layover, both flights from 'E' but arrived E4 out of E18. What I thought of on the flight was what if I got to the connecting gate with 10 mins to spare and the flight was either oversold or had alot of people trying to go stand-by, would CO have protected my seat or since I wasnt at the Gate (still on the inbound flight) within 15 mins of the departure time did CO have the right to give the seat away (dont know if they did) I arrived at the gate 2 mins after the departure time and was previously protected on the next flight to EWR an hr later.
But Im sure CO flys to some places just 1 flight a day or that the next flight there is hrs later. So should the OP worry if they get to the gate late but in time to catch the flight but after the 15 mins before departure, when all seats can be given away? If the flight is empty then no problem, except if they leave the gate early.

I thought as long as there was a schedule change that you could change whatever you wanted to without being assessed any fees of any kind. So need to Plead or Beg for anything

You can still do the $25 confirmed change 3 hours before the 6:20am flight, or go to airport and do free standby there; but really no reason to, unless the 6:20am is now fully booked and they can't switch you right now.

Also, flights out of B tend to board a little later since the aircraft are smaller capacity RJs (i.e. often board 20-25 minutes ahead of departure time rather than 35). And when I have a tight connection to B, I generally find the G/A standing there with the list of missing pax and their inbound flight info on screen. If you're the last one, they'll even call you by name as you approach.
But, yeah, with such limited alternate connections, probably good to take the earlier flight out, which, as someone pointed out, they should let you change to for free given the change in your itinerary.
