I'll take CLE before EWR, IAH, ORD or PHL. As my home airport (sometimes it's PIT) I'm happy with CLE especially when things are looking up, in general, there. Anyone who doesn't like CLE should make their connections in EWR and report back on how that works out for them.

I'm unfortunately like you with 2 home airports (although they are 600 miles apart)..if I'm leaving from the east coast home EWR unfortunately has the most connections, what I've found is if I can clear EWR by no later than 8am I'm good...connecting after that time reduces your chances

Continental leadership and the TSA in CLE are working very hard together to make the C checkpoint as efficient as possible given the space constraints. The best fix is going to be the expansion of the lobby area. Unfortunately, that is going to take some time.
The Elite Access Lane was moved in the hopes of keeping it from getting mixed with the non Elite customers. We have had positive and negative feedback, though mostly positive.
The Elite Access Lane is supposed to be open at all times. However, there have been a few hiccups along the way. This is not the norm. Continental and the CLE TSA have been working together to fix this issue as well.
We have a way to go, but believe me, we are working on it.
Have a great day!

i've just boarded my flight from CLE today.
The elite line was better marked but there was nobody enforcing like they have at EWR. There were some people who jumped the regular line over to the elite side. I'm assuming they were not elite but could be wrong. If they were frequent travelers they would have known to push their bags into the scanner instead of waiting for the screener to do it for them.
For the last three years i've been flying weekly to CLE and line 6 is always the slowest. It must be the main selectee area or something. I dont understand why they would use that one for elites. Maybe the machine is broken because it is by far the slowest of all the machines there. It's been like that for three years and was the slowest again today.
I think better signs would help and maybe a blue carpet.

My biggest head ache is EWRs policing of the lines, its a true mess. CO says they are working on it though.

Are we all ready to agree that the title of this thread is incorrect?

I flew out of CLE last Friday and the FC/Elite line was there for gate C. You had to cut through the main line but it was there.

The elite line was quite open and visible when we flew to Europe last week (with extra tensabarriers and gold coats to help with the thanksgiving rush), though the TSA area was its usual mess. I now usually request to use the new machine (line 1?) to avoid the painful mess of the other lines, which are slow and inefficient at best. Unfortunately, CO can work with the TSA but ulitimately the TSA runs their own shop however they see fit.....

The elite line was open and running on the afternoon of 11/26. It only funneled into two TSA lines, however, and was rather slow. Also, the TSA ID checker took about 20 seconds to read my boarding pass and ID. The TSA metal detector person also stared at the boarding pass for much longer than it normally takes.

I flew out of CLE on Sunday and when I asked where the elite line was I was told they are all the same line. I told her at IAH we have a dedicated elite section and she told me "this is Cleveland, and this is how we do it". I hate CLE to begin with and this is more reason. Another reason while a little off topic here is as I was walking through the terminal at CLE on Sunday night airport workers were in clusters talking to each other and every other word I heard was a cuss word. Not professional at all.
