[What does CO serve as a] snack?
So what's a 'snack.' Am flying CLE/LAS, a 4.5 hour flight. The CO website says a flight this long deserves a meal, but on the flight description it says 'snack.'
I'm FC but some friends are in the back.
What's a snack?

Snack in FC = cold plate. If it's the late (~9pm) flight, I don't think coach gets anything.

Coach is turkey sandwich, chips and a small piece of chocolate if I recall correctly. F has been cheeseburger (hot btw), don't remember the sides and I think they're still serving ice cream/sundaes. At least that's been my experience on the afternoon flights.

that's a long flight. i would highly suggest bringing your own sumptuous victuals....regardless of front or back of the plane. wouldn't you rather eat something you find delicious than what a beancounter in houston decides fits into his cost spreadsheet?

I'd say it depends on the time of day. I recently had two of those long domestic flights (EWR-LAS,LAS-EWR)
On the outbound flight, which was to leave at 7:15 pm (but which left at 10pm
) they served a warm sandwich, on the eastbound flight from LAS (early morning at 6:45am) they served a bowl of cereal.
I wish they'd serve the carrots again

I just did that flight July 1-4. The snack from CLE to LAS was a hot chicken patty sandwich, salad & fun-sized Skittles. The return snack was a hot hamburger, salad & fun-sized Skittles. A decent "snack" if I say so.

I would assume it's the slightly larger snack (chicken sandwich or mini-pizza) along with a salad (basically lettuce and a vinaigrette) and a candy of some sort (Skittles, Twix, or Snickers).
If your friends get the pizza, I'd tell them to not eat it. The chicken sandwich is decent and reminds me of high school cafeteria food (but still good).
If those things don't appeal to your friends, I'd say bring your own food aboard. I was on a IAH-DEN flight and brought on cold pizza. The lady next to me had a burger leftover from the Pappas Restaurant. We both had a good laugh.

In terms of what a snack is, it depends on the time of day, I suppose. I typically fly CLE to SFO at night, and the snack in the back is peanuts or pretzels, while those in the front of the bus are served the cold plate.
