I didn't know Air Transat was flying SFO-IAH.

It looks like it was ship #401, a shiny new 737-900. The FlightAware map shows it to be an interesting ride prior to landing at ABQ. Glad everyone is safe.

Seriously... Was this the ABQ Glider??

I find it doubtful as well. I think it was probably one but the pilot was overheard saying two.

ConciergeMike Oct 31, 2008 8:28 am

Could have been saying "engine two" referring to the right side.

We were on a 737-800 and are getting a 737-900 (with no IFE, minor issue). It does have one more row in F so MR BL is hoping for a battlefield (he was #11 so not much hope but with all the people reaccomodated perhaps). I want to say again the GAs have been amazing with everyone and continue to be amazing; smiling all the while; despite the fact that we have been here for 4 1/2 hours and there are some cranky folks and some very complicated reroutes. We've been able to watch them work on one of the engines and it doesn't look pretty. All I can say is we feel very fortunate and kudos to the pilots for a job well done in a great landing!!! ^

It's on the ABC side of the plane (sorry that's as technical as I get ;) )

That's engine #1 IIRC...engines are numbered left to right as seen from above. So much for that theory.

Oh, almost forgot: a very Happy Halloween to The Box!

I'm Flying VS to LGH in March and I have read they have very strict carry-on limits. I guess I will be checking a bag. :(

Don't envy me unless you want to be 5'5".

Are you flying UC on VS? My experience has been that they are more lienient with UC passengers with respect to carryon baggage. Not sure whether that still is true, however, as I haven't flown them in awhile.

I've found the ground crew in ABQ to be consistently stellar as well.

Glad you're safe on the ground. ^

YES, I have an Upper Class reward ticket.

I would much rather just bring my 21” Atlantic carry-on/roller bag with me.

Maybe I will just check the bag and not schlep it with me. I dont want to get hassled my them trying to bring two bags. I will be taking my camera and maybe video camera to get shots of the uc cabin.

ssullivan, did you plan a mini do for the week of thanksgiving?

I haven't yet, but if there's interest, I'm sure we can set something up for the weekend after Thanksgiving.

The PDA site shows the COA1743 SFO-ABQ leg was ship 239. Wow, I was on that same plane yesterday from CLE-IAH.

ABC = port side; DEF = starboard side.

Indeed why I'm wrong as to baglady's overheard theory.
