Anyone in Manhattan tonight interested in grabbing a beer (or five)? I'm now on the prowl for something better to do than get drunk on my own.

Had an interesting landing at EWR. About 20 seconds prior to touchdown all sorts of alarms, claxons, and cookoo clock noises started going off in the cockpit. The FAs in the jump-seat looked at each other and grabbed their harnasses.
We landed HARD then stopped at the end of the runway for about 5 min. Before going to the gate. All is well that ends well. I think it knocked the roll out of eyes though. I wonder if the pause at the end of the runway was to confirm that the landing gear or engines were still functional enough to get you to the gate?? |

Do I learn the secret handshake then, or is that at 5K?

I discovered that they all use Twitter 'in-character', which is kind of fun. |
