Now that I know you are in Rochester, I have great sympathy. The year I went to school there it was white from Oct 15 to Apr 15. I got a lifetime's fill of the stuff just that year.

Although it was really fascinating to stand at the lakeshore in Charlotte in a full-fleged lake effect snowstorm with a brightly shining sun illuminating the proceedings.

I'm home - stopped to fulfil my Heineken rebate with purchase of eBay gift card. Didn't make steak, eggs, and soup when I got home. Did make steak, eggs, and sauteed onions.

Not Rochester, closer to Albany(for which you should have more sympathy.:D) Though I'll be in Rochester for New Years, if there's no Lake Effect going on.

My folks live right by Ontario, and I grew up about a 5-10 minute car ride from Charlotte in ROC. It is funny when folks talk about severe snow, I usually say until you have been on the "wrong end" of "Lake Effect" that you have not experienced severe.:D

What is this "shoveling" you speak of? Snow naturally melts about an hour after it stops snowing.

ALCO -- I, hereby, invite you to shovel out my driveway when the first large snowstorm hits here -- yes, I have a longish driveway!:D:rolleyes:

The dreaded "plateau."

I went to school in northern NY about 30 minutes from Canadia. The c:eek:ld was more of an issue than the snow.

I have relatives in Buffalo and have done business in that part of NY in the winter a couple of times since college.

There is never any recollection of that area that does not include snow. These guys in Houston have no idea what 30" of snow is like and it is most likely well beyond their ability to comprehend. :)

Yep. Sure. You just keep believing that. :p

I will always remember my dad saying he didn't need a snow blower since he had me and my sister.

We must never be dissuaded from our solemn obligation to continue posting no matter what the circumstances may our duties will never be over. As it was once said:

BL: Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
OT: Germans?
BN: Forget it, he's rolling.
