Not using SPG points?

I imagine they are precariously out of rooms for point redemption during JazzFest, heh.

As another refugee from CommunityBuzz, just wanted to say CONGRATS on the win! Looking forward to hearing all about it!

Thanks! ^ My studies of Trip Reports are beginning when this current trip is over. I should be back home late Saturday afternoon after some DC sightseeing tomorrow and a trip out to Udvar-Hazy on Saturday morning.

The Sheraton is the official hotel of Jazzfest. Nice place. MCO has high airfares for jazzfest and it takes a while for the airline to adjust the aircraft for it. First time I went down on someone elses dime and last time I used miles.

This was probably one of the biggest surprises of my time down there. During the day, and uptown (not the French Quarter) it is a TOTALLY different atmosphere. People of ALL ages are there (there are tons of kids - everyone gets M/T/W off of school) and it's basically just a chill block-party-like atmosphere. People scream when the parades go by and wave for plastic beads and trinkets, and there's plenty of drinking, but it's QUITE safe and laid-back. Tailgate-like, if you will. Really fun, especially if you're with a good group of people.

I didn't see one pair of :rolleyes:s the entire time, if you get my drift.

We ventured about 500 ft. onto Bourbon St. once (and this was on Monday night, not even the actual day) and that was it for me. People shoulder to shoulder, beads getting flung off balconies, fights starting. No thanks.

And that is what JazzFest is all about! We've been 3 times and hope to go back this spring. ^^

Last year was my first.
Outside rep scheduled us there the week between, rather a no brainer
Saw Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young, buddy guy, Nevells.
Definitely one of the better weekends in my life.

I will be back

I will be back
