Open an account on their website. Then, email a letter requesting a status-match of that newly opened account (attach PDFs of your CO Elite Card and recent statement) to diamond dot club at flybmi dot com.

Thanks. I have a PC membership but the s/o is only a silver. I guess I will wait until the NRT trip posts to push the s/o to gold. That should ensure the match.

You could have renewed *G for $300 (and earned enough destinations miles for a U.S.--->Europe part cash/part mi. J ticket) by doing either 2x MSP-GEG or 2x ORD-GEG. :-:

I dont understand this program yet, but I am going to have to read about it tonight. I think we need to have a "How to become a BD whore" mini-do :-:

I know, I know. The things I'll do for extra miles, and one last ride in F on NW (a DC-9-30 no less).

Thanks. Will do.

I've yet to ever step foot on a non-mainline AA flight.

The best, IMO, are:

U.S. ----> Continental Europe in J for 37,500mi. and 255 Pounds; and
U.S. ----> S. America in J for 30,000mi. and 210 Pounds.

That’s not bad if the exchange rate stays where it is now. I will try to lay this all out to the s/o, but this is someone who does not fully understand or appreciate mileage runs and status. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me, but that’s a different story :eek:

ETA: I may do the BD status match myself and try to catch one of these 300% fares you guys always find once I secure Gold or Plat for 2011.

Thanks - I'll look for them tomorrow.

I added my BD number to the reservation on the US site. The number, along with "Star Gold" was printed on all of my US boarding passes so I should be OK.

Don't know if you've selected hotels for your MSP layovers yet, but I can definitely recommend the Westin Minneapolis - a very nice property located right next to the Nicollet Mall light rail stop. I also stayed at the Aloft Minneapolis and it was your standard Aloft located about 2 blocks from the Metrodome light rail stop. For my next trip, I'm thinking of returning to the Westin for one night and then trying either the W or Hotel Ivy for the second night.

Second the recommendation on the Westin. We had a great stay there in May.

Have you tried the W or Hotel Ivy? Thoughts on either?

Based on the now-existing Tampon run (has been around for several months now), you could guarantee BD*G renewal and enough miles for either of the above-listed cash + mi. awards for $1,100.

I prefer the $300 route. :D

We did get kinda spoiled with that one. It's a sad day when a 2 cpm transcon Tampon run in F looks like a bad deal.

:-:Gold and J to Europe for $1,100. That sound like a great package deal. ^

I haven't. All of those properties are brand new, and all opened after my days of work trips to the Twin Cities a couple of times a month had ended. I've heard nothing but good things about all of them — Starwood built all four downtown Minneapolis properties around the same time, and they have all opened since 2007.

I agree. I'm going to have a hard time dropping $500+ on future Q-UPs.

I really wish I had purchased more than 2 of the MSP-GEG fares...
