There are a few decent places, though overall, Houston BBQ is a disappointment.

You could check out Rudy's of course. There is also a place on Richmond just inside the Loop called Luling City Market (not to be confused with the actual City Market in Luling, which will be paid a visit tomorrow). They have decent brisket and sausage.

A new place is Phil's on Washington Avenue and Heights Blvd. I have hopes for the place from my first visit but it certainly wasn't great BBQ.

Otto's is the last place. Decent BBQ at good prices.

Hard to beat a mid-afternoon skinny dip

If anyone's eating dinner at McCormick and Schmick's over the holiday weekend.

My afternoon meeting was changed to a conference call, literally the second I got onto a bridge that has a hefty toll attached to it. I diverted and went into the office instead. At least I got some T+E's done so I can get paid a week earlier than I anticipated.

I wonder if our accounting dept. will wonder why the Madison City Police charged me $88 for "high speed" internet access. ;):o:D

I have almost 8.5 hours of driving from TN to Middle-of-nowhere, MO tomorrow.

Isn't the first term now a trademark of Amazon? ;)

ORD-GRU is a 763. :-:

Depending on time of year, IAD-GRU is also a 763.

Do you have eligibility for a certain amount per day for incidentals without receipts? I used to get $8 a day or such.

Good to know you at least study these routes, even if you don't necessarily fly them. ;)

Down to $350 in UA travel credits and no plans to fly any more itineraries. What to do :-:

Almost as terrible as $3,350 in bump compensation.

Sounds like a lot of work and 12-ounce curls involved in that VDB compensation.

It keeps me out of slok class.

How thought it was a good idea to re-number the flights from IAH to SFO?

Gee, now I have to stuff my brain with more information. I'm running out of room for these random occurring things.

:D

There isn't enough time in this day to read all of the posts from yesterday, so forgive me if this has already been posted:

US Airlines had to return to the gate, in ATL last week, due to maggots in the overhead bin.

It seems that a customer brought his own BOB in his carry on bag: rotten meat complete with extra protein.

I would like to point out that "mid-year" is likely to mean March - October. As these things go, i'd put my money on the end of that since we haven't seen it already.
