Perhaps a new wallpaper for the computer of Mike's Mom?

Penalty kicks are one of the few instances where even FIFA refs can't mess up a goal / no-goal situation.

Most of the time they have already messed up by awarding the penalty kick to some injury-faker.

The clouds and rain from this hurricane have been a welcome relief. Glad it stayed 500 mi. south, though.

I'm really hoping we get a bit more; the 80% chance around here did not materialize today.

I'm hoping for the clear and 84 afternoon forecast for tomorrow - need to mow the lawn.

Looks like FT has gotten a little "oily" ;)

It is big north of you in ACT right now! Been raining several hours, and no more than 90F all week say the forecasters!

Yeah, north and south of AUS have gotten tons of rain. We had one shower move through north Austin this afternoon but it didn't touch my house in Leander. At least the 97 and 98 degree days have taken a siesta for a day or three.

Fun fact: If you search on Google for, "Why doesn't he just" it returns results relating to, "Why doesn't he just ask me out?" If you search for, "Why doesn't she just" it returns, "Why doesn't she just leave?" :-:

Another state technically-but-not-really entered today: MO. Greetings from MCI, probably a new low in my list of airports.

Been in several interesting towns in MO including Cape Giradeau (natives do not do it justice in their pronunciation of this word). Going to Springfield in August and I even may wind up in Sedalia (literally out in the middle of nowhere) for a day. Interesting state. I might go and visit Branson for an afternoon before hanging my hat in Springfield for the next day.

Agreed. My A/C didn't kick on as much as it usually does during the summer. I'll still take some cooler/dryer weather.

Last time I was in MCI I had to drive south a ways out of town. We went from nothing to f$#k all real quick.
