There are a few underwhelming lounges in IAD - still much better than sitting on the concourse but ...

For those of us who don't have PC memberships and do mostly domestic travel, the IAD LH is one of our few lounge options (especially if you don't count the West Coast). I always try to schedule my return trips from DC out of IAD for precisely that reason...

Eeekkkk. I totally forgot that one was supposed to do that. And let's just say that out of 200 people at my wedding, there might be a maximum of 5 that won't be considered "out-of-town guests". Unless you include the NYCers, but even then...it's still going to be a lot of baskets.

Why can't my mother content herself with doing things like organizing those, instead of making unilateral "final decisions" on things that I actually care about and getting furious when I even hint that I'd like to consider other options?

^ Pretty fun, huh? I can't wait till that technology expands to other varieties. Between the awesomeness of the mini-keg and the fact that it's by far the best beer option on CO domestic flights, it's really quite a shame that I don't particularly like Heineken (I mean, it's fine, but...eh.)

Sounds like HHH in early August. ^

Evening, box. Any boxers around EWR term a for the circus?[/QUOTE]

Circus? Do you mean the thunderstorms that delayed my DCA-EWR flight last night for close to 3 hours?

There was a girl on my flight who spent the whole delay getting absolutely tanked at the bar across from the gate and carrying on about how she had missed her connection that night to FLL and was going to have to spend the night in EWR...to the bartender, to the GA, to anyone in earshot. She wasn't being belligerent, thankfully, just ditzy and LOUD. It was quite something. She was from the Jersey shore (yes, she did mention at some point the name of the town).

Continued this behavior on the flight...where she ended up being seated in the row right behind me. Pouting, engaging the FA in an extended conversation as to why exactly she couldn't listen to her iPod during landing, etc., etc. He was very patient, amazingly.

And then apparently she asked for "those little airline wings" and he managed to produce what looked like a canvas toiletry bag with CO logo, apparently containing all sorts of goodies. I couldn't exactly see the description on the bag - it wasn't "customer supplies" but was something like that.

Hey, I wanted something too! :p

I got $3000-ish from PHL for those dates. Not that I could go, but that's no sale fare.

I had a traditional wedding but I never did gift baskets. I also had to have a nice but firm talk with my mother over who's wedding this was, as in mine and I get to make the final decision with her input. We had some fights but she backed off and I got the wedding that I wanted.

Good luck with your mom.

What a deal!

I kicked myself for not going on the last tware to SYD. This one is only about $50 more from the last one, but now I'm still on the fence.

If anyone jumps on the Twitter fare and wants/needs a travel companion I am thinking about biting on the fare!

I found $810 from EWR, but the first one I found was $1500 or so. You gotta fiddle with the dates. :-:

We put my step-mom in charge of making sure the bathrooms at the venue were in tip-top shape. Considering the venue is used as public beach access during the day, this is a significantly worse job than it sounds.

yadda yadda yadda, she's kept very quiet regarding wedding planning since we gave her that task.

:D:D:D

Oh sure, I also got $917. But when I saw 6/22 to 6/26, I put those in and got $3k from Philly.

You are bad. :D

I did allow my mother to pick out the bridesmaid dresses. I didn't want to be blamed for how ugly the girls thought they were.

I'm oh-so-ready to book NYC-SYD 6/23 or 24 - 6/26. Are you guys doing SFO or LAX?
