Oh, I forgot this nugget:

Her: "Do I need to be on to look at pictures?"
Me: "On? Well yes, you need to power the computer on."
Her: "No; like online."
Me: ..."No, not online. Your pictures live on the computer, not on the IN-TER-NET."
Her: "So do I go to the CD/DVD thing?"
Me: <insert sound of eating a bullet>

Moments like those are when I'm grateful for growing up in computer-literate family. Thanks to my dad being a software engineer, everyone has at least basic computer literacy.

My wife is gravely concerned that our children will be regularly questioned by the FBI for nefarious activities on the Internet.

I'm slightly hurt by these comments because I figure that I should be sufficiently nerdy to keep tabs on what they're doing well enough to know if felonies are in progress. ;)

South Florida is cooler than that. :-:

There was a nice breeze in FLL yesterday, which made the day very pleasant. Sun is strong though, as evidenced by my forehead.

In other news:
WIN - got a new blackberry
FAIL - my pocket case thing doesn't fit this one and the new one came only with a hip-holster, which I refuse to use.

Off to the ebayer.

Hmm, 15 more and I've got 6,000 in the Box.

I just spent 15 minutes in line at the bank. The wrong bank.

Oopsie.

The belt holster is my savior. Though, I do it for comfort and not for, "HAY LOOK AT MI PHONE I R SO KEWEL!@!!11one!". And I never tuck in my shirt (fat guy ahoy!) so no one can see it.

A bit of imbibing on the deck prior to the bank trip? ;)

I want a new BlackBerry and the hip-holster isn't all bad. In fact, I went to the eBay to purchase a new one for $3 when my original broke while fastening my seat belt.

So glad I'm not the only one that does stuff like that. The other day, drove thru, paid at the first window, and proceeded to drive right out. Went inside and tried to bluff through that I did it deliberately because their line was backing up, but they knew the real deal.

I just realized that I will not be home on the weekend for the next four weeks. :(

Mackieman Jun 1, 2010 10:40 am

I suppose I should get one more thing accomplished before lunch.

I'm finishing lunch - I'm hoping to accomplish at least one thing after ...

My issues with the belt holster are as follows:
  • The DBags who pioneered this style for the "hey, look at me, I have a cell phone" ruined any practicality the holster might provide.
  • In professional settings I always tuck my shirt in.
  • Teh Canuck has stated, very clearly, she would divorce me if I ever wear my cell phone on my belt.
  • The Karma would be way too strong to ignore if I were to end-up being a hip holster guy.
  • I'm not that guy.
  • I don't want to be that guy.

The real test will be to determine if the noon conference call I have will be canceled like it is better than 80% of the time. Except for last week when I left for lunch and they suddenly had the call, needing me. It was .

All good and strong points. I've always worked for California-based companies so this whole idea of, "professional" dress goes right out the door most of the time. It's a special day when I don't wear jeans to the office. Visiting client sites is another matter, of course, but I still am not rolling up in the Bank of America offices in CLT in a tie. Ain't doin' it.
