Morning Box
all the little birdies here are chirping away

Oh well, as I told him, I was thinking of all the business and first class free seats he left on the table. :)

That when the following information gets told to students: I am sorry but next weeks office hours will need to be adjusted due to a conflict in scheduling. After next week office hours will be XX.

Stopped by here first, get to the really important stuff right

Your Burlington SS is not showing any love to me for a stay in that area next week and it's right were I need to be. Does Hyatt have a plat push?

I do have to say one nice thing about BOS - I flew up on UA 718 yesterday and they had an exceedingly classy and respectful honor guard upon arrival for a soldier lost in Afghanistan. Even everyone on board remained seated until the military escort deplaned.

There is a trial plat promo listed over in that forum. I'm there because:

A. It's a Hyatt-affiliated property
B. I found a $99 a night rate months ago (remember, running out of travel funds at end of year)

I wasn't there last night because my presentation was too early today to even attempt flying in this morning.

Ladera, right? Wife and I had dinner there while we were staying at what was the Hilton down below it on the water. Nice property.

ETA: Nope, not Ladera. The place that was interested in me was Jade Mountain. The job went INP when they found out I don't speak Francais or Deutsch.

Morning, Box.

I don't think that was the name; doesn't sound familiar. I'll have to look it up.

Morning, Box.

It is THE hotel carved into mountain above the Pitons. I'd be surprised if there was another up there.

  • It's nice to not be in Canada. Although we're importing "team Canada" down for the weekend.
  • It's soooo nice out today. Work + back deck =
  • Looks like my bachelor party date is moving due to some schedule conflicts. I might actually be able to make the footie DO. :-:
  • My job is at a point that I don't have to do anything (except put out the occasional fire) until Sept. 1, my team is so far ahead. Our fiscal year ends Sept. 30th, so looks like there will be a nice bonus in my future.

^:-::D to you. Nicely done. Today is, indeed, gorgeous - can't believe I'm leaving it for high 40's during the day, high 30's at night, and possible snow on Sunday. Not even kidding.

Not sure if I missed the boat, but I think you mentioned Cambridge - is your conference at Harvard or the other Institute in town? :) (or another location entirely)

sbm12 May 21, 2010 7:45 am

SPG hotel is in Texas today.

They show some good rates for that area, just not the night I need
Not sure the Plat challenge would do me much good, likely not enough company paid trips\nights this year

I was wrong about being on the Pitons themselves. It's on a slope that has a view of both Pitons. This happened more than a year ago and I tried to block it out after they said no. :o

Really? The teachers couldn't even cheat intelligently?

I don't disagree with you, however, they went above and beyond just cheating, they were an exemplary school (more funding and recognition).

Also, teachers have to be held accountable. There are a lot of teachers out there who fill a seat all day and the students suffer. They need to be fired. My vote goes to a federal standard of expectations (what a child must know at each grade level) and the states and local districts can make changes to match that criteria. Get rid of the standardized testing and have district wide End-of-Course exams that measure the criteria.

Arne Duncan appears to be on the right path with this, let's hope he keeps it up.
