I'd rather go on a traditional cruise. The price of the cargo cruises is really no different from deals that can be had on mass market cruises. My cruise line of choice is Royal Caribbean (I used to work there), although I definitely would NOT say no to Crystal Cruises :p

I was seated next to a Hassidic last summer flying between IAH and EWR. I busted out my football sized baked potato loaded with pork and cheese (:o) and he said "don't you know, CO serves food. Even in coach."

I smiled, said "I don't know if it's food..." and dove into my pork-o-tato.

Sure enough the cart comes down the aisle loaded with not-dogs. I almost converted the Hasid. :D

pork-o-tato: it's not just for dinner anymore^

The dirty looks my fiancee got upon boarding IAH-PHL with Pappasito's were priceless. How I've managed to avoid the not-dog so far is beyond my comprehension.

I've heard rumors that some shipping companies even offer discounts if you are a shareholder.

Most cruise lines do this too; I know Royal Caribbean does. We just sold off our RCCL stocks for a 600% profit from what we purchased them for last year. :D

Although I must say, I am sad that we no longer have any shares :( but maybe they will dive again and we'll buy some more

Does anyone know of a good reliable car service from SFO to the city on a Friday evening?

My line of choice is Holland America. They usually have decent deals on Junior Suites (Still only about 300 sq. ft.) with balconies and jacuzzi tubs.

Why not just take a cab?

One of my mother's friends sails Crystal pretty much whenever she feels like because of her sales volume with them. She just came home not too long ago from DXB-VCE.

I've never had the not-dog either... Maybe it's on specific routes that I never fly? Either way, I'm TOTALLY cool with that!!

Holland America is definitely NOT the land of Is Not Possible. Their focus on service is justifiably legendary for a brand that isn't ultra-luxe.

Give me a Princess ship any day and I'll be happy. The top-tier benefit package that I didn't have to earn tends to sway me.

I doubt CSX has any locomotives with whistles. Horns for certain but not whistles.

I haz Platnium with teh Princess (I used to think the logo was a giant octopus), and 2:-: with Holland America. At those mid-levels, there aren't tons of perks, so I'm content with continuing to build Holland America status (slowly, ever slowly). I got lucky with Princess. They confused me with my father (who had lots of Princess cruise days under his belt), and I got the same status as him.
