Exactly!^

Anyone in teh box have any tips on dealing with Hilton HHonors? They're refusing to credit me two free stays for their 1Q promo period, during which I had 8 paid stays. They're trying to tell me I didn't register for the promo, even though I did*.

Any ideas on what I can do / who I can contact? I'm getting absolutely nowhere in an email exchange with HHonors.

*their site 'ed on me the first time I tried to register. Went back the next day and the site then told me I was already registered.

Thanks!

I called Wyndham and it seems I was not registered for the Promo, even though I did register at the time, there was a "blip" as she called it, in the system. So, she has registered me, and says it will take 6-8 weeks for the points to post.

Note to self: remember to check to see if points posted, or the points I have now will have been very expensive points to accumulate :(

Somehow none of this surprises me!

Last we paid tuition was in the early 80s when Franny went to law school. At Rutgers, the price was about $2000 a year for out of staters and a bit less than half of that for NJ residents.

$850 is quite a hit. It means that you need to cough up about $25K a year before books and miscellaneous. That is a big number.

It's a terrible trend.

What is most troubling is the fact that federal and state funding for a lot of places of higher education has increased, yet those institutions continue to charge students more. The whole point of the funding was to help lower costs.

Yes, tuition costs (+ all other costs) are now just scary! I know those numbers are just going to keep going up! I have one in college now & one to start in 2 yrs!:eek::eek: No possible way to have put aside enough $ according to the college finance software -- when the assumptions all went out the window in the past 3 yrs!:mad:

I think you'll see both federal & state funding cuts -- NJ has already done that!

I agree that state funding will decrease, but highly doubt it for federal funding.

It is interesting to go to different campuses around Texas and see how they spend their money. UT's tuition has increased dramatically since 2005 and yet, they are not necessarily adding capacity, they're building museums.

Texas Tech has also seen a dramatic rise in tuition prices, yet the addition of capacity is minimal.

In both cases, the school's higher faculty and administration all received nice bonuses.

Lastly, and I'll stop posting about tuition, is that these schools brag about having very large funds backing them and being so "secure"... If you're so secure, lower the cost a little bit.

Agreed, but he isn't yappy at all. He wasn't making noise and keeping us up. I just didn't get enough sleep. :-:

Didn't Princeton threaten to do this a few years ago thanks to their sizable endowment and get hammered by all the other schools as creating an unfair environment?

Yep, I'm pretty sure they did.

Of course they'd create an unfair environment, they would actually be affordable.

Don't know if this topic was covered while I was away last week, but has anyone had their Wyndham bonus miles posted?

I had all four stays posted in my Wyndham account, but only showing 500 miles per stay. Nothing posted to BD at all.

BD usually takes a while to post my HH Stays. i think the hotels do them in batches!!

Yesterday she got the up on the EWR-IAH 764 flight as a silver and the connecting flight to SAT! ...!!! In addition, she got to ride with LukeSkyWaiter!! What is this world coming too. I am flying EJT all weekend and seeing no love!! :)
