There's something great about having a beach to yourself. We went over to Polihale State Park over on the west said of Kauai near sunset one evening. There was a guy fishing nearly a mile down the beach from us, but that was it.

I've trained my almost 2-yrs old daughter well - she got a toy doctor set for Christmas from my brother-in-law (whose wife is a resident at Vanderbilt). Included in the kit was a toy otolaryngoscope (aka a little funnel-looking thingy).
When she gives her teddy bear an exam and checks in his ears, I ask her what she sees. The answer? "Brains." :-: Atta girl! |

If she keeps at it, you'll have a heckuva retirement plan (after you bankrupt yourself paying for her Med School, which should only cost half a mil by 2030, at present rates of tuition increase).
Worked out good for me - when you want an engineering degree, paying in-state tuition to attend Illinois is the way to go, versus somewhere like MIT. |

She gets the same deal I got - my folks saved enough to cover me for 4 years at a state school of my choice. Anything above and beyond means scholarships/grants/loans. Graduating without a single penny of student loan debt to my name was a great thing.

My half a mil figure was for in-state. I'm sure private med school will cost 2 mil, a kidney, and a contract on one's firstborn by 2030. :D

Our financial planner told us that ~$300-400K would be sufficient to cover 4 years in-state for the undergrad class of 2030. Like I said, if she wants an advanced degree, it's on her dime.

Yikes!;) Agree that college tuition increases bear no resemblance to what 'actual' inflation rates are!
Credit hours at my law school were $20/hour when my father attended. They now cost ~$850. |

Had the stays + bonus miles posted to Wyndham, but nothing to BD, yet!
You need to check w/WR to make sure you are signed up for the BD promo!@:-) I called Wyndham and it seems I was not registered for the Promo, even though I did register at the time, there was a "blip" as she called it, in the system. So, she has registered me, and says it will take 6-8 weeks for the points to post. Note to self: remember to check to see if points posted, or the points I have now will have been very expensive points to accumulate :( |

Fall 2010 full-year tuition, room, and board for students in the College of Engineering is now $31K. At least they structure the tuition program (under state law) such that the rate is locked for 4 years - the price you pay for freshman year is the price you'll pay your senior year. Seniors graduating this year are paying about $4K less. |
