I'd given it to her as a gift after she had a baby. She had me over for lunch and served it. I figured it was lack of sleep ;), not realizing she'd never had champagne except at someone else's house or restaurant.

Four of us were laying around the pool this afternoon when my next-door neighbor appeared with a bottle of ice-cold Perrier Jouet. Needless to say the pool loungers immediately turned into land animals and sucked it down in such a hurry that an emergency refill was immediately supplied from my stash.

Doesn't everybody keep a bottle of Champagne on ice in anticipation of such an eventuality? I do not remember ever having opened a bottle that was warm.

Plus1 is a Dodger's fan. I grew up loving the Dodgers (My dad was a Dodger and Red Sox fan) and always remember hating the Yankees. I have become an Astros fan and it is the only baseball team I have ever owned a jersey of.
