This show doesn't really have much about flying or even the reality of being a FA... I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

It was indeed completely vapid - had it on in the background.

Late to the game, I know (on the West Coast, just spent an hour and a half answering e-mails ), but go to the Down Home Diner. Our gourmand friends swear by it.

I am assuming that the $37 in tolls I will need to pay to get across the GWB and onto the turnpike are payable in cash via toll booths that I imagine are staffed by some of the nicest and most helpful people in the country?

The GWB is a little out of the way if you are going to NJ. I have only ever come from LGA in taxicabs, but it seems to me that you might be better off taking the BQE or Cross-Island Parkway to the Belt Parkway to the Verrazano.

Plus, avoiding Manhattan to get to the GWB Is Not Possible since the GWB ends in Manhattan. On the other hand, if you drive that way, you will get a good view of Yankee Stadium as you drive up I-87 in the South Bronx.

I got a good laugh picturing you as an ax wielding wild woman trying to free the dog:D

This suicide route has obviously been posited by an out-of-towner. It is analogous to going from PHL to the far northeast via the Walt Whitman, Jersey Turnpike, and the Burlington-Bristol Bridge. Only a masochist plans a drive by giving himself extra driving miles on Long Island and Staten Island.

From LGA to anywhere in NJ (or Phila or the rest of the world across the Hudson) you definitely take the Triboro (now called the RFK) Bridge to the Bronx and up the Deegan to the GWB or to Manhattan and up the Harlem River Drive depending on time of day and radio traffic reports.

Actually the Bridge only brushes across a very small section of Upper Manhattan that is not the "Manhattan" that one would worry about when it comes to traffic density.

So true... :)

IMO, the "horror" of driving in Manhattan is extremely exaggerated. I have absolutely no problem driving in the city.

plus1 on all of the above!^
