Anyone ever ridden backwards on a plane? Like those C seats that show up on the UA 747 seat map? I've got to imagine that would be a little weird...

Yep. WN had some rearward-facing seats on its planes back in the 80s.

They were flying all the way up until ~2003

Many times. I've done IAD-ORD on the new UA 763 C seat facing backwards once, as well as MANY flights on WN backwards "lounge" seats. WN had those seats on most planes until around 2004.

Forgive me box for I have sinned. I bought B6 tickets w/o signing up for their program. I didn't think I would use them all that much, but now I may.

B6 Moderator Lurker, do you know if I signup now, can I get back credit for purchased flights (but not yet flown) including any bonuses (i.e. EML)?

Is it even worth it to signup in the end?

One warning. Be very careful attempting a same day turn if you need to go ground STN-LHR. Going into town from STN is a bear and I think that you would need to leave a minimum six hours. I flew the short-lived CO EWR-STN flight about 9-10 years ago and all that I remember of it is the two and a half hour journey into London.

OTOH, I know that a same day turn is not usually your style. :)

I'd love to do that for my birthday too, only a couple days early. But I doubt I will be able, I have a packed schedule this year, even if it is a bit uncertain.

Aha - that would make sense. Probably due to the areas of the country to/from which I was flying, I didn't set foot on WN until summer 2008. AirTran was my LCC of choice from 2000 on (they added a CAK-BOS nonstop just about the time I started college).
