Interesting; didn't know that. I get the National Restaurant Assoc. newsletter each day and it's quite good; I like learning the ins and outs.

Hmmm....no advance purchase restrictions on LH fares for travel between now and March 7. Could be interesting....

Looks like this could be the start of Palm's 2nd death... I've never seen how they could possibly complete with Blackberry, Android and the iPhone.

I doubt it, mostly was started by rumors. Palm has a quality product in WebOS and the Pre Plus is a nice phone (Pre is like a 1st gen iphone now), looking forward to the 3g/4g Palm that will be out sometime this year. Since I have 4g and 3g now in my market.

Yes, especially if it's during the amazon promo. :)

YUL was fun and i'd go back in a heartbeat.

This explains why zippypinhead was leaving his phone on in the middle of the night. I was wondering.

THE BRIT accent on my GPS

I switched our GPS to the British accent largely because I find myself more likely to pay attention to instructions in British. (Fortuntely/unfortunately, my wife is from NYC. :D) The Aussie accent was OK except that the long i was too long (made her sound stoned).

Most of the street names around here are English or Welsh and the British accented GPS manages to mispronounce them.

There was an article in the New Yorker about poutine about four months ago. Unfortunately, it's not available online, but this sentence from the abstract seems appropriate for many denizens of the Box:

Not necessarily. If there's not a lot of overflow and 1877 still has seats, all it does is create a tight connection in IAH. Worst case, there are US and UA options that still get us there same-day.

Rumors? The word on poor sales and reduced outlook came directly from the Palm CEO.

I agree, Palm does seem to have a decent product. However, they were a little late to the game, they did very little to really set themselves apart from the rest of the market and they've always been even with or just a step behind of the market. This is what is leading to their downfall.

If Palm wants to save themselves, I think their best bet is to save money by discontinuing WebOS development and start licensing Android to run on their own devices.

hmmmmmmm

The problem with Lufty's promo is that as COers, we get screwed on LH W/S/U fares on longhaul flights. Not to mention, I doubt we'll be able to FD this, which is where the REAL benefit comes in.

I would also add that Palm was very short-sighted in not releasing a GSM version of the Pre. 90% of the world uses GSM so Palm cut itself off from all of that potential market-share.

The reason the Android and iPhones have as big a penetration as they do is due to the global marketplace.

33 minutes of connecting time. Worst case is that you would have to be routed to SFO. :D

MissTeenBrit is interested in McGill. Hmmmm. Maybe this could be a "scouting" trip?

Good call. Any ideas should that happen on how to get out to SJC where our hotel is? Staying at Airport Homewood, and the rental does not start until the next morning.

Depending on the time you could do the CalTrain to the Santa Clara station. There are cabs available.
