I have suspected for quite some time that the EWR widebody spare is the 762 that always seems to be parked across from the P4 AirTrain stop...which gates that spot is near is escaping me right now.

I'm pretty sure the EWR spare is a 777. Between TLV, PEK, PVG, NRT, HKG, and LHR, they need a 777 as the spare. A 762 would be useless for the majority of widebody flights out of EWR.
