I'd actually be happy to try a stopover there. IIRC, Ulaanbaatar is getting a Sheraton in 2011. ^

That's about how our travel planning goes 99% of the time.

She lets me think that I'm in charge. I kind of am in charge of travel planning...she does say that it's my area of expertise.

I'll put it in further perspective: only very recently did she grudgingly accept that early-morning flights really do indeed maximize one's time at the destination and are therefore the smart play. She values sleeping in over getting to Point B.

At least you can deal with the 1K line to get into the F cabin. Convincing the ICC that "Yes, is possible" was :rolleyes::rolleyes:, when I had to do it back in September.

When calling in, specify you are calling for an International agent. That will get you a US agent and you shouldn't have any issues.

I've dealt with both 1K and regular US agents on the swaps with no issue.

Clarification: yes the air is free, as in taxes only. But if the preferred dates are not possible and a change to the dates results in materially higher ground costs (hotel, resort, interisland flying), she sees that as more expensive and therefore bad.

Told y'all - novice traveler.

Depending on how technical you want to get, CLT is southwest of Philly. :D

Indeed. :D

And I'm willing to bet that if I asked her how long a PHL-CLT flight is, she would be over by at least a half hour. Is it inconvenient to connect? Yes, no doubt. But if it's a mileage ticket, I take what I can get within reason and run like hell.

Yell really loud in the jetway of the first flight. The other gate might hear you.

Medical and drug screen scheduled for day afer return from SJC. Apparently my background check came back OK...what a shock. Now I just worry that they'll pull a Pepsi on me and deem me too out of shape.

Good afternoon Box. Here at IAD and a group of Aussie students were oohing and ahhing over a food service pager. I found that entertaining.

Actually, it's pretty funny as I had a similar situation on these two exact gates here a couple weeks ago when I was doing OMA-IAH-MAF... the connection was soooooo close (like 2 minutes), that the redcoat went down on the ramp, grabbed my gatecheck bag off the cart, and carried it over to the other plane and put it on. The door closed right behind me and we pushed as soon as I sat down. THAT was close. My kudos to Luis for facilitating that connection. :D^

I've taught her more than enough (thanks to FT) to have her do some basic searching by herself and she does do it after a bit of verbal prodding.

I have to book all his work travel as well… and advise him on which airlines to fly to maximize mileage. All he knows is he likes certain airlines, hates others, and that Star Alliance miles can be good. Oh, and he has SPG status now and wants to keep that. As long as we stick those boundaries things work well.

I was not aware that DL operated a flight to Georgetown, Guyana. :-:

No, in charge means you get to book it and then just say "Here's the itinerary." Approvals not required in advance of booking. At least that's how I see it. ;)

You're at the Fuddruckers near the NH and LH lounges?
