Yeah, I always forget about that. This is the only forum I'm on with said rule.

Isn't the honeymoon planning supposed to be up to the groom? Tell her to let you plan the trip and ensure her that she will enjoy it when the time comes. :)

She's a budgeting freak, so my air options have to conform to what she deems as affordable.

Granted, I abused my planning privileges extensively. :D

As did I (to a much lesser extent than you) and she absolutely loved our honeymoon.

I thought you were using miles?

I don't think she would oppose YVR, but all of the experts here have to remember that whatever I tell her has to make sense to her, which can be an uphill battle. She called a few minutes ago and I told her that CLT was always a good option, and she said no because she does not want to go south to go west. This is what I'm up against.

Wow. Makes me appreciate my relationship so much more.

Us planning a trip:
B: Let's go to Hawaii in May.
Me: OK! Sounds fun.
B: What dates?
Me: How about May xx-xx?
B: Sounds good. Let me know when you've booked the tickets. You're in charge of figuring that out. Oh, and do the hotels too.
Me: OK.

That's about how our travel planning goes 99% of the time.

Same here, though I do try to be up front about anything that might be considered odd by a normal person, such as, "We are flying from SAN to IAH, but we have to change planes in ATL."

I haven't sprung too much of that craziness on him yet. Our Hawaii trip in May might raise an eyebrow or two, but we're combining a UA 50% off electronic certificate with CR-1s, and we're being joined by his sister who lives in the DC area, and we must all be on the same itinerary. So we've already discussed that there will be connections involved and final routing will be determined by price and upgrade availability.

Did you remind her that Hawaii is south-west of the continental US?

Perhaps it's time for a My First Map. :)

Yes, dear, that is an Ilyushin. Don't worry, we only have a few stopovers in Turkmenistan and Tajikistan before the brief fuel stop in Ulaanbaatar. :-:

Mother F-er. I had something that needed to get to the city of SD so I mailed it on the 10th. It had to be there by the 17th, so a week was plenty of time and I sent it certified to have a tracking number.

Well, it got there on the 18th and i was puzzled why. I just spoke to someone there and they said they had the 12th, 15th and 17th off as holidays.

I'm in the wrong profession.

For any pending GEG runs, next round of schedule changes hit.

DEN-GEG and GEG-SFO are now on two-cabin planes.

At least you can deal with the 1K line to get into the F cabin. Convincing the ICC that "Yes, is possible" was :rolleyes::rolleyes:, when I had to do it back in September.

That's the way my wife would like it to go, but I have been married a very long time and she isn't getting out of the planning stages that easy :D.
I've taught her more than enough (thanks to FT) to have her do some basic searching by herself and she does do it after a bit of verbal prodding.

Haha, I would love to be able to say that some day. And a technical stop in Ulaanbaatar would be .

Clarification: yes the air is free, as in taxes only. But if the preferred dates are not possible and a change to the dates results in materially higher ground costs (hotel, resort, interisland flying), she sees that as more expensive and therefore bad.

Told y'all - novice traveler.

Oh, trust me, she knows where Hawaii is. But she is correct in her thought that the trip is to the west of where we live, and that's all that matters. I see her point, but the thought process is flawed.
