As I haven't ordered a phone since 2005, I would concur.

I average one per year (two per year if we count replacement phones).

Amazing.

I've been wanting to put these in! Thanks for the reminder.

Security scare at HOU. Top news story. I guess it's good that it's a slow news day.

I do want to upgrade the 8700g but really enjoy being off contract with the government discount.

I'm just shedding my personal 8900. My dilmena is to sell the 8900 and replace it with an 8120 or something else that has UMA or keep the 8900. (I want UMA for when I travel abroad and the BBs have, by far, the best UMA stack).

I loved my 8900, and liked it even more after I upgraded it to OS 5. But after it was no longer a work phone, it was not nearly as useful to me, and I found myself wishing for a touch screen, and more screen space, as well as a larger selection of non-work related apps.

I do miss the UMA access. I'm with you on that. The BlackBerries on T-Mobile excel in that area, and sadly, T-Mobile hasn't offered UMA on any of the Android devices.

Was a bit slow in getting to my own 33K - which just so happens to be this post :D - and also just missed the 158K, posting milliseconds too early and getting bested by baglady. Such is life.

I'm tired. Time to head on to bed.

Congrats on 33k!

I think the iPhone is a great device. My partner has one, and it's interesting comparing the different platforms. However, there are definitely some areas where the iPhone is severely lacking when compared to other platforms.

My students just got an assignment related to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

We have those all over our kitchen and they are wonderful. Our kitchen has a very deep and narrow set of cabinets between the refrigerator and a wall (as deep as the refrigerator and only about 14" wide) which were completely impossible to use because of their depth and narrow opening. Installing pull-out drawers bolted to the shelves in that cabinet eliminated having the empty the cabinet out to find anything in there.

Can you share part of the assignment?

You know you don't have to have a contract to get a new phone. Of course it does mean you pay more for the device up front…
