Hahah. Funny.

All is right with the world. After 26 minutes (surprisingly no hold time) and a conference call with a Supervisor they relented and agreed to move The Canuck's and my seats.

Done; however, I think a facebook fan page would be even better.

;)

Yes. You will pay rack (or SPG50 rate, if you're very lucky :D).

They do - see benefits. Perhaps you need to mention it explicitly (unless for some reason it is blacked-out or they are trying to keep you on the prior day's rate?)?

Guaranteed room availability
# Applicable to one standard room booked by 3 p.m. local time 72+ hours before day of arrival at participating hotels. Member must pay regular RACK rate. Black out dates apply. Not available at resorts. Room upgrade and Free Night Award redemption do not apply when this benefit is utilized. Minimum length-of-stay requirement must be met.
ETA: Just re-read your post. You may be hitting min stay issues (not availability) if they allow you to book two nights but not one.
ETA2: just saw Hartmann's post below mentioning this too ;)

They have one, but your issue may be related to minimum stay issues, not availability of rooms.

I had this problem with the aloft Downtown Dallas and talked to SPG Insider about it. Turns out, there are rooms available but it's 3-nights only (I only want two).
