Has anyone noticed that continental.com has reverted back to the old version for the past several days, so that the upgrade standby list, where this flight come from, etc. are no longer available? I have to use pda.continental.com/info to check those info.

Yeah, I started enjoying quite a lot that application, today I'm flying EWR-MXP and I just checked how's the situation on my flight and didn't see the usual info. Thanks a lot for linking the pda.co.. website!

Ciao!

I have a reward reservation for two to Europe. I split the PNR and now the original reservation lists "100,000 miles" for the cost. It should be 50,000 as it was a coach reward.

Seems like the cost doesn't get split when splitting PNRs.

i can't check in on continental.com -- "We are unable to complete the check-in process at this time. Please proceed to the airport for assistance." sounds remarkably SSSSuSSSSpiciouSSSS. (kind of unusual on the return leg, but whatever..) but PDA checkin works.. will PDA checkin work for SSSS'd itineraries? or is there something else weird about my itinerary that happens not to break the PDA site?

edit: later in the day, website checkin worked, and let me print a boarding pass. once i used pda checkin to change my seat (1F, yay!) the website started working...

edit again: i was not a SSSSelectee, so something else was up. the ticket was a northwest-issued domestic F award ticket. i had no issues on the outbound.

Ticket booked in B, upgrade changed to L

B class ticket booked on co.com:

My Account screen shows:

Activity Date Description Mileage Earned
12/25/2008 Continental 627B 2,778
12/25/2008 Continental 1620B 2,270

"View all activity" shows:

12/25/2008 Continental 627B XL / XL 1,235 1,543 2,778 617 0
continental.com EQM/EQP 618 1

12/25/2008 Continental 1620B XL / XL 1,009 1,261 2,270 504 0
continental.com EQM/EQP 505 1

While the proper EQM was given since ticket booked on co.com. The fact that the ticket was a "B" ticket it should have have had the full 100% EQM credit on the first line.

Shows B class - but then XL for upgraded L class. System changed fare code from B to L. If ticket had not been purchased on co.com - would have been an issue.

Ticket listed as refundable at checkout was actually non-refundable

I just had a weird experience changing the date of a non-refundable L fare ticket that I bought earlier today...

The purchase page showed "This ticket is refundable: View the fare rules" and "I accept the fare rules associated with this refundable ticket." I clicked through because I couldn't imagine that a refundable L was so cheap, especially when searching for refundable earlier showed the cheapest was a ticket in S at least twice as expensive.

Clicking through to the fare rules revealed the fare codes were LLRHOLSN and LR7BSN [my emphasis] -- both of which are non-refundable fares. The descriptions confirmed that these were non-refundable.

I suspect the system was tricked by the fact that there was no change/refund penalty on the ticket since it was still within 24h of ticketing, but I have no way of knowing what the real problem was. Clearly this is a bug of some sort.

I went ahead and purchased the tickets as I was fully informed regarding the fare rules and I was not looking for a refundable ticket.

When viewing a reservation, add a link to "book another ticket using the same itinerary". It's a PITA to book a companion's/co-worker's ticket later on and have to go out to the home page and rekey the cities, dates, etc.

mbreuer Dec 31, 2008 9:55 am

A couple of small enhancement requests...

  1. PDA checkin for international itineraries
  2. Link split PNR's for a single checkin (i.e., not have to do all separately - timeconsuming and difficult to coordinate seat assignments.

news and offers - broken link(s)

select "all" then sort by date. Goes to a 404 error page.

I can't get a seat change from 2B to 2A for the life of me, if keeps going back to 2B.

I really want that window seat not the aisle!

Yep tried that too, I can't change seats at all, no not checked in, I know my way around that when it happens there too :)

While searching for meal information, I noticed that CO.com mentions that several of its catering partners are in Alexandra, VA. Last time I checked, there's a Alexandria, VA, but no Alexandra, VA.

For a CLE-LGA flight tomorrow morning today I received 4 separate emails from CO telling me to check in, all sent to me around the 23h30 minute mark.

Odd.

Travel Club - Split PNR's - Missing credits

Seems (confirmed by co.com support) that if you split a PNR purchased at co.com and have signed up for the travel club, only the flight(s) remaining with the original PNR get credited. You have to call or email for manual credit of the remaining flights.

Steph3n Jan 10, 2009 10:19 am

The 4th item on the scrolling highlights(not sure what it is called) on the main page is till highlighting some 500 miles for hotel stays through December......It is Jan now!

If you click on it is shows 250 miles....so clearly a mixup here.

Co.com doesn't display all flight choices for making changed reservation

I recently cancelled a flight from EWR-SJD because, even with the $150 change fee, I would save about $60. When I went to re-book my flights all over again, co.com did not show all available flights even though they showed up when I tried doing it as a new reservation. I wanted to take flights 1411 and 1769 on 22 Janurary allowing an hour and a half connection at IAH. The re-booking engine only showed 1411 and 1452 with a 32 minute connection. I tried again as a multi-city reservation EWR-IAH and IAH to SJD and it showed only about 4 flights in total from EWR to IAH, and these were not necessarily the same flights shown on the direct EWR-SJD screen. IN the end, I had to call the elite line (as due to weather the co.com help line was a thirty minute wait. The agent did what I needed her to do and put a notation in my record that I had tried on line, so hopefully I can get my 100% eqms later.

The Rebooking flights showm, IMO, should match the flights available when booking a new reservation.

tomsundstrom Jan 12, 2009 8:28 pm

When trying to book an award reservation, hitting the back button causes an error message and eradicates all traces of the results of the search. Every step backward and forward yields an error message.

Status: Estimated Departure ^TIMESPAN^ Late message

Saw this on the PDA site and on CO.com just now, for a flight today (CO 1232, Jan 145th). Went to Flight Status, and the status is shown as follows:

Code:

Status: Estimated Departure ^TIMESPAN^ Late
Refreshed a few times and it eventually changed to "on schedule".

I think the issue is checking for Jan 145th, you confused the system. :D

RobOnLI Jan 22, 2009 1:39 am

I don't see this listed in the master issues list at the beginning of this thread.

I had a ticket reissued today from NW (012 stock) that now includes a Continental flight. I have a CO confirmation number and I added the reservation to my account. When I view the reservation on Continental it shows the flights out of order. I'm flying GUM-NRT-SEA but it shows NRT-SEA first. So it had me a little nervous that the GUM-NRT flight was booked for the wrong day but it's not. Both are operated on the same day. The GUM flight departs at 700am and the NRT-SEA flight is on NW and departs at 335p.

Finally, I had to manually add my NW WP Plat # to the reservation. The receipt does not show me as Platinum and the EUA On/Off setting does not appear in the reservation. I know the EUA on/off setting is about one of the quirkiest settings of the whole reservation but now I'm wondering if CO is having issues getting elite status from NW. The flight still has 12 open seats in FC so getting an upgrade at the airport tomorrow *should* be easy. However, on my NRT-GUM flight several days ago, there were 3 people booked in FC out of 14. When I got to NRT, FC was full! No clue where 11 people came from considering there was no one on the standby list. Possibly that was government Y fares for non-elites getting upgrades? GUM is a big government employee/contractor destination.

Any thoughts on the out of order flights and whether CO is having issues getting NW status from NW?

Edit: I think the reason the NRT-SEA flight is showing up first is that it arrives at 6:55am the same I actually depart Guam (at 7:00am). Thanks International Date Line :) So what that means is CO.com is showing flights in sequence of arrival, not departure. Why would they do this?

co.com mileage balance

Mileage balance on my account shows one amount.

Upgrade standby list incorrect - F and R class swap

We have a separate thread on this - but I think it needs posted here.

It appears that due to last weekends fare code changes - the pda site and co.com flight status for upgrade standby list is not working. Appears that fare codes have not been updated. As paid FC (now F) shows as upgraded, but upgrade now R (formerly F) is not shown as upgrade - but as revenue FC.

Busted seat map(s)?

Today's (1/23/09) flight 36 MCO-EWR shows all exit rows available - and nothing else. On checkin, all the exit seats show no longer available after selecting and accepting the exit row terms & conditions. CO.com support says that nothing is wrong, all those seats are actually available. They said that in order to select one they'd have to uncheck in first - told them no as losing the existing aisle seat due to what seems a glitch would not be acceptable. Going to PM CO Insider with the PNR info.

nbs2 Jan 23, 2009 8:49 am

I don't know if it was a result of the MLK messiness or something else, but I selected auto-checkin for my 1/24 return flights when I checked in on 1/17, and at T-20 (almost T-19), I only went to check myself in because pda says the EUA didn't process for my flights - and auto hasn't happened.

searching for award with stopover = open jaw error ?

Attempting to do a reward search with a stopover (HNL>EWR>MXP with stopover at EWR) I entered it as a multi-segment search. Is there another way? Anyway for results I get an error message that open jaws are not allowed (?) and the flight results displayed below leave off the last segments.

And (rant here), that calendar function is pretty much useless. I did some searches with it and saver passes disappeared when you clicked on the dates showing availability.

Additionally (more ranting), it would show availability for saver BF on DL, but when the full itinerary results showed it would give messages in red that all the flights selected in one direction were not available in BF. You were placed in coach but charged an additional 15K miles. Of course you could go back and just select saver coach to get back the 15K, but why is the calendar showing BF availability only to disappoint you later?

CO tech support, do you ever read these posts?

Bill Me Later problem using continental.com

I experienced a problem with using bill me later on continental.com which I was hoping someone could help me out with.

I booked a ticket this past Sunday for RDU/EWR/AMS/ACC/AMS/EWR/RDU on continental.com. I specified Bill Me later as the method of payment in the payment info section and the reservation was made and I was issued a confirmation number. I immediately checked my bill me later account online and the purchase attributed to Continental Airlines along with the right amount showed up, just as I expected. I then got an email from Continental saying that my reservation was on hold for 24 hours and that I would get an email when it had been ticketed. After 24 hrs I had still not gotten an email from them so I called them up and I was told that there was no "bill me later information attached to my reservation" and that as far as they knew they had no payment information on file for my booking. They told me to fill in the bill me later info again but I didn't do that as I didn't want to risk being charged twice for the same ticket.

Has anyone had this problem using Bill Me Later on Continental? I'm wondering if the issue here is that the final destination on my itinerary is ACC (seems like a lot of airline websites don't issue tickets for travel to ACC and LOS because of fraud). At this point my booking is still active but it has not been ticketed yet.

Trouble even getting on co.com this a.m. Then MR Bagalady's res for tomorrow (which does clearly show tomorrow's date) said unable to check in less than an hour before flight. Finally able to check in; then bp still hasn't faxed. Trying again but their site seems a bit messed up this a.m.

Unable to View Reservations

OK, so when I go to Continental.com, it shows that I am already signed in. I try to click "View" or "View/Change Seats" under Reservations on the main page. When I click that, it takes me to the sign in page, and when I enter my password, it submits it, shows the blue flash screen, then takes me back to the login page. It doesn't tell me that my login information is incorrect (it's not).

Occasionally, this isn't a problem. Hopefully you can help me with this. Here's some more information. My internet access is through a LAN so my IP address changes quite frequently. I use Firefox 3.0.6. Also, I booked the reservation through Northwest as a partner award reservation.

Genius

# 11:

when I have checked in for a trip rather than having the homepage of co.com load with an 'upcoming trips' box, why not feature a 'information on my current trip' (I assume that one is logged on to their account to see this information). Passengers could confirm their relative position on the various standby lists, see what movie(s) (if any) will be shown, review the seatmap, volunteer for a bump (if applicable), check the status of the flight, check the status of the weather at the destination - and so on.
He recommended this as a way to free up the gate agents and provide better service, and I think he's a genius. Ya'll really should make this happen, because it's annoying as heck right now having to hover near the agent's desk until they are ready to open the flight if we need to get something simple accomplished before the flight.
