I can't imagine the CO inflight services group has enough time on their hands to go through each movie and check-off a list of words to dub out. I think they rely on their outside vendor to supply inflight entertainment that meets set standards and criteria.
I think our wrath should be targeted at this vendor - there is absolutely no possible reason I can think of for censoring the word "God" in this context. If our society has become so prissy that we cannot use the word "God" within a privately funded and distributed form of entertainment, then we are really all nuts.
There are really so many more things that people could and should get bent out of shape about (global warming, war and conflict, poverty, disease, etc.); to put all this effort into where the word God appears or how to wish someone a happy holiday or what kind of decorations are appropriate and non-threatening is really silly.
I had the name of the inflight entertainment vendor before, when I went looking for a copy of the Hawaii boarding video, but I can't seem to find it now. Perhaps someone knows who they are and we can inquire what their thinking was to censor this word?

My company manages the IFE content for American Airlines, along with many of the top tier airlines today. Each airline makes its own decisions concerning censorship of audio and video content. We implement those decisions when we encrypt the content for release.
The actual censored passages are removed by humans and not merely by software filters. There is a great amount of post-production that goes into formatting a video for airline use. Each airline has their own standards (QF is rather lenient, AA is rather conservative).
I hope this bit of information is helpful.

This is from the thread in the AA forum. I don't know if its helpful for the CO discussion, or not:

Interesting to find out from that referenced post that CO is not the only airline that seems to find the word "God" offensive and worthy of censuring

Great information....so it seems our question really should be directed at CO after all. So, did CO specifically request the word "God" be removed from "The Queen", or is the word "God" on their permanent IFE blacklist?

Well, at least the dufus didn't lose his job over this, but he certainly deserves a slap upside the head. Given CO's habit of resurrecting long dead movies from the grave, I wonder what this censor would have done if CO requested a copy of "Oh God!" with George Burns. No audio and little black boxes over the actors' mouths?
So two mysteries solved - it appears CO gets their movies from a different company than the one which produces their custom inflight programming and Hawaii boarding videos.

I saw the movie yesterday flying from EWR to LAX. Interestingly, when Her Majesty used this word, it survived; however, the Almighty didn't. [She used the term when the vehicle she was driving broke down]. Given the various ways in which the word could have been used, I imagine that it should have been censored too.

How about us former colonial subjects who are offended by the "Queen"?!
Off with her head, I say...
