Thanks. We had a blast doing the trips. Plan a lot of travel for work next year - start up company - and I still have family in the UK - so frequent trips to LGW from EWR !
There is a wealth of information on the site. You guys are great.

If you fly a lot, say about 200k a year, I'd make recommendation: don't fly with Continental alone. I'd split it between Continental and American. Once you hit Executive Platinum on American, you get upgraded to business a lot--they fly business class on transcontinental routes and some key routes into and out of DFW and ORD. It's worth it. Going forward, I plan to fly 75k on Continental and the rest on AA.

btw, just thought I'd share my experience of KLM : great airline
flew KLM from JFK to AMS then AMS to DXB on the thursday night of Thanksgiving.
The purser on the flight came round with the passenger manifest, acknowledged that we were sky team elite (only silver at the time) and spent 5 - 10 minutes just chatting with us. nice touch.
fantastic service on KLM, complimentary alcohol, and nice touch. glass of wine with dinner makes a flight go much faster.
