Amtrak segments posting incorrectly to OP

Greetings everyone,
I need some help from folks to see if anyone has encountered the same situation and what the resolution was.

I traveled on Amtrak between NY Penn Station and DC on Acela Express in Business Class. According to CO web site, I should have earned 500 EQMs for this trip. I ended up with only 250 EQMs and so I called Continental to ask why.

The fare that was on my ticket was K class. According to Continental OP Service Center, K class tickets are all in discount coach (even though mine was in Business on Acela - plus it makes no logical sense - how could I have discount coach fare in Business class - Amtrak would not let me on). I then called Amtrak who claimed that Continental in not up to speed with Amtrak's fare classes because as of January, the K class is Business Class on Acela and Metroliner. OPSC told me that the only fares according to their internal agreement with Amtrak that should earn 100% EQMs are the ones that have J fare class listed on them. According to Amtrak - J fares are Business Class fares on REGIONAL TRAINS.

In addition to all this, I told the Manager that I could not have even earned OP miles for the train UNLESS it was in Business Class or First Class on Metroliner or Acela and she agreed. So now I am waiting for the manager to call me back.

Anyone has had the same thing happen to them and if so, how has this been resolved?

Thanks much.

So now, I had the OP Manager telephone Amtrak liason so they could resolve this situation.

Were you on a CO codeshare or a standard Amtrak fare? They give points differently.

As for the Coach/Business thing, on an Acela train, Business class IS coach. There is no coach on the train, and all Amtrak trains are 2 class setups.

If you are traveling on an Amtrak ticket and give you OP number, you get miles as you expected.

If you were traveling on a CO codeshare ticket, there is a lesser mileage accrual - like what you got. In the case of Amtrak you always lose by purchasing tickets from CO.

All of this is listed at http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...er/amtrak.aspx

Yeah, that's the thing: it is a regular Amtrak fare (no Continental codeshare) and I got 50% EQMs...
So I am trying to duke it out with OnePass right now trying to explain to them that there is no 50% EQM for Acela...

I just got off the phone with the OP Service Center (your approximate wiat time is 37 minutes......)

I sent in my Amtrak receipt for an Acela trip from New York to Boston TWICE and I keep getting back a form letter asking for my original boarding pass. HELLO? anybody ever ridden a train.... there IS no boarding pass. You have a TICKET and that's it!

I guess there mode is just stonewall and 85% of people just give up.

What do you mean by receipt? I sent in the smaller portion of the ticket (the right hand stub the conductor gave it back to me) and that is what I sent in and my miles posted (though incorrectly - still trying to resolve this with the OP Service Center). By the way, if you are Elite, you can bypass the wait time by accessing INfoPass via the elite toll-free line and pressing "2" for InfoPass.
