elite changes coming?

I have had to call the gold elite line several times about my elite qual miles not posting.

An example being a trip I booked on line, had to call the .com help desk because I got an email telling me to after I purchased. It was (b) class. So I fiquered I get full segments miles either way. I was wrong.

Ive called around five times and had to fax documents.

Last to phone call agent said (different agents) "dont worry sir changes to the elite qualifications are coming."

Any ideas what is in the works or is this b.s.

Did you hear this from more than one agent? Did they give any hint or clue what changes are being anticipated?

A front line agent wouldn't know until the press release is out. Too much chance that it would leak. If there are changes coming, it'll be secretly posted on the CO.com website on a Friday afternoon.

Maybe the change is they're going to realign status levels to 25k-silver/50k-gold/100k-platinum...

I hope (although doubt, based upon past experience) that the changes, if any, are truly positive from the standpoint of elites, and, in particular, Platinums, as, other than the miserable changes to OnePass in the past few years, I really like flying CO and really do not want to have to change programs.

I could envision something like this:

Raise the requirements, say 30k/60k/100k but allow the cheaper fare classes 100% EQM..

Agreed. I would rather have higher mileage/segment hurdles than this current confusing scheme. I say Silver should be 30K or, even, 35K.

Well, let's think about this...if Platinum was increased to 100,000 miles - what possible benefit could one come up with to stay with CO when you could fly the same 100,000 miles on AA and earn Executive Platinum which is head and shoulders above CO OP - or switch to NWA and earn Plat over there for the same 75,000 miles.

If I had to fly 100,000 miles, it would only take me a moment to decide to switch to AA - I dont see even the slightest value left in Onepass for anyone who doesn't live 30 minutes from EWR, IAH, or CLE.

That would certainly be one step forward and one step back all at once!.

Sorry to drift off topic a bit, but boy is it hard to read the posts on airliners.net with the dark background and grey text. I only thought to mention that because I hope with the new platform coming to Flyertalk, we won't loose our easy black text on white.

to answer the question above two agents said basically the same thing. I got the impression they meant to simplify it.

They were responding to comments I had made about how they must deal with this (fixing elite postings) all day long.

It would be great if they fixed the mess that they made. However, the way CO tends to fix / enhance / announce things I won't be holding my breath, I'll be holding my wallet.

Simplify the Elite program, or their internal tools to correct mispostings?

I think they're talking about their internal systems.
