My inquiry with regard to the fare, which I might say others have asked in the past on these boards, was merely whether I had overpaid for the privilege or not, as this is the first time I am ever using $ and miles for an upgrade, nothing more, and as you and many others on this board frequently have done this, I was asking for some feedback and guidance. Given that I am doing this kind of blind and in a vacuum of knowledge, I though that I just might ask the advice of seasoned Road Warriors such as yourself and nothing more. I hope you can understand that.

I do like your last comment, though!

At the risk of breaking my arm patting myself on the back-- I myself thought I was being incredibly witty, as I typed that!
Good to keep things lighthearted, sorry if my tone was otherwise originally.

Two minor things. You mention the fare you're working with being cheaper on CO by a few bucks than the AA fare I brought up-- but, of course, the difference is in the details as they say! AA lowest fare is upgradeable, CO isn't. B I G difference, IMHO. But since you had a credit to use up, well, I certainly understand why you are willing to sit in CO's coach cabin o/w rather that AA's J-class or MRTC-- for the same price.

And, yes, you are 100% correct, I most certainly was a CO praise-singer right up until July 11, 2001-- a day that will live in OnePass infamy The day I became aware of what we all collectively refer to as "the HoKey enhancement." I never claimed to be the first person to make the switch to AA-- I didn't discover anything, just did what common sense told me I should do, very much based on what others here had done before me. The magic of FT...

Most importantly, have a great trip!

Actually got an upgrade today from my K class co-issued ticket on the Virgin codeshare from LHR to LAX, but it cost me $150 to change the return portion of the itinerary. $150 is something I can part with to ride in the big chair.

Ironically, when I checked to see if anything opened up on my outbound lax to lhr, the same agent I got from a week ago told me that I was "still on the waitlist" for the codeshare flight. How can I get this guy the training he needs?

If it wasn't advice on this board, I would not have my upgrade.

Thanks.
