Time Limit for return of ELTC's?

Could anyone please tell me if there is a time limit for the return of ELTC's (1998)in order to get the 500 miles per unused certificate.

Many thanks,
Nick

Perhaps it is just for European members, as US upgrades are not that much use??

The 1998 European Elite Members Guide (page 6):

"Redeem ELTC Certificates for Miles.

If you do not have the opportunity to use you ELTC certificates, you can return each certificate to you local OnePass Centre and ask that it be converted to 500 OnePass bonus miles."

OK, I didn't receive my European Elite Guide last year. The only Elite Memebership Guide that I received was The Official TEXAS ELITE Membership Guide which allowed me to train in the 777 simulator twice a year.

Oh, I see the confusion.

the US flyers are members of "Con-ti-NEN-tal" One Pass, but Merry and the rest of the folks in Europe belong to "Con-ti-nen-TAL" (accent grave) for the sophisticated European traveller.

I feel Soooooooooo discriminated against.

I sent 12 ELTC's to OnePass on Sunday, and sure enough this morning my account has been credited with 6,000 bonus miles.

What about ELTS certificates? Are these things worthless? I have 12. Do you think I can get 500 miles each for these?

Merry Merry please advise,

crju: I have no idea, sorry.

I assumed (always a mistake when airlines are concerned) this applied across the whole OnePass programe.

Certainly in Europe you can return ELTS certificates (exactly the same as ELTC's) according to page 10 of the 1998 European Elite Members Guide.

You would need to check with your local OnePass Service Centre.

Please give it a try and let us know how you get on.

From One Pass:

"ELTCs are not accepted for flights over water, just for flights over land. Since most of the CO European customers fly over water (to & from US), the return of these ELTCs for bonus miles is an accommodation for them, as they have less ability to use them."

Whatever.....

NJDavid: Thanks for checking. I agree with your comment "whatever". That's the most bizarre excuse for NOT extending the offer to U.S. based flyers I've ever heard/read!

I agree... this is among the dumbest rules I have ever hard (No offense Merry, but it seems unfair that you guys with all these ELTC's can't change them in for miles.)

Maybe some of you elites should write CO and mention that this is a bad policy for your favorite Airline.

U-A allows us to cash in unused upgrade certificates for miles. I can't see why CO can't extend the same off for you elites (the only condition they can attach is that the miles don't count for requalification!)

OMNI FOR JAWS: How do you go about training in a 777 simulator??? I'd love to do that sometime!!! (Send me the answer via e-mail. IN fact, if other airlines offer this send me via e-mail!)

And the guides I see read they are from New Jersey. HUUMM??? CATMAN

Answer for Catman: VERY CAREFULLY!!!

Actually, Catman, this was a privilige granted only to citizens of CO's Hometown and expressly excluded anyone from Jerzee.

Merry,

Could you give me the link to page 10 of this guidebook? I will just print it out and attach my certificates and mail to OnePass.

Let me know,
