Also what if the cost of RDMs went up and EQMs dropped (e.g. 5cpm each) does qouting the 5cpm rate for EQMs truly represent increased value?

^ I will fall in line with the procedures in this forum! :)

However, I guess I don't really care how much the RDMs are, because I will get to use them. Anytime you can get RDMs at .025 or under seems like a pretty solid deal. (Bought some from AA a few months ago for about that rate). So to me, it's kind of like they are giving me a "discounted bonus"? :D

But my miles were still 8 cents per EQM, all-in price, including the price of the RDMs! Two days ago.

^ nice! For an int'l ticket? Does the routing of the ticket have anything to do with the price of the miles?

Mine was domestic ticket. Several other people have said in this thread that int'l and domestic itins may have different prices for Elite Maximizer, but I haven't flown CO internationally in the past few years , so I don't know that part from personal experience, just what I've learned on FT.

Gotcha, thanks! My 10.5 "combined" total price is on an int'l ticket. Who knows if there's a rhyme or reason at all.

Sitting at 10.72cpm (RDM+EQM) on an intl trip in December - LAX-IAH-CUN-IAH-LAX

It's just a hair cheaper on the triple option (above is the double). 10.71cpm :D

Just did some test bookings-- looks like the rate is between 11cpm and 10.5cpm. All my domestic trips look like 11cpm (3cpm RDM and 8cpm EQM) and international trips across an ocean from EWR are 10.5cpm (2.5cpm RDM and 8cpm EQM).

Not sure why the fluctuation between 2.5cpm and 3cpm... and an SFO-NRT came back 3cpm RDM. EWR-PVG and EWR-CDG were 2.5cpm RDM. The PVG option came back with not actual miles offered, but 7,500 or 20,000.

Wish I was paying attention and got in on this in the summer for 7cpm RDM+EQM!

EDIT: Just checked the SFO-NRT flight again, and the RDM came back 2.5cpm this time.

I "got" 10.7cpm all-in last night (2.7cpm RDM + 8cpm EQM) for 3,104 miles: IAH-SJO.

It was my first time using Elite Maximizer to purchase EQMs. To other noobs, note that it took 15 minutes for the reservation to actually issue a ticket (must be a CO thing?) so that I could see the option to buy miles within 'View Reservation'. Then, it took a while for the miles to actually post to my account (Lifetime miles for CO were bumped pretty quickly, but EQMs/RDMs took 4 hours), so that I could cancel it. Overall, painless.

3 CPM for RDM and 8 CPM for EQM (11 cpm total) for 2475 miles on LAX-NYC (sleazypass award used)...

Not sure I want to take it...

Will you be more sure when it's 20-cents per?

If that's all that takes you to the next lever, then it's a no brainer

I don't need the EQMs this year and the actual flight will happen early next year so I suppose they would be for 2012.

I am not sure I am interested in the EQMs even in 2012, I do not plan to fly COUA that much in 2012.

So the question was more a general one. Should I expect the price to go down closer to the date since the flight is after 12/31?

Again, RNE posted earlier when the cost came down this year. AFAIK, he was the first to post that prices returned to normal. IIRC it was around Feb 1. My guess is that it was earlier, but no one normally looks for extra EQMs that early, so he may well have been first to actually check.

If you don't plan to fly UACO, then probably no point in buying EQMs .... er, PQMs.

You are right. I will probably skip the 2012 PQMs so early in the year, since I don't expect to fly a lot of *A next year at this point... I might take the miles because they may be of use later and 3 CPM is about what you'd expect from a mileage run.

If you purchase now the Elite Maximizer EQMs would be for 2011 even if the flight is in 2012. So if you don't need them for 2011, definitively wait til 2012.
