CO - Ticket change inside of 24 hours still a change fee?

I was googling ticket change policies before booking a ticket recently and read somewhere that it was a $150 fee for ticket changes on CO (unless in a refundable class), but they are waived inside of 24 hours. I've now booked a ticket, but it is still charging me $150 to make the change same day.

CO has a dearth of information on their website about this. Can anyone clarify?

Changes to tickets are not waived within 24 hours. Best to cancel the ticket (which is permitted for free) and rebook.

I've actually changed quite a few tickets in the past through the "change flights" link on the website inside 24 hours and it didn't show the change fee. I know I could have cancelled and rebooked but this was also an option. The most recent of these was a couple of months ago so it certainly did work - not sure if that functionality has been lost.

You can cancel and refund without a fee inside 24h. Note the refund may take a while.

Also note that the fare buckets you held may not be released when you cancelled the ticket.

I'll be honest, I don't know which 24 hours we're really supposed to be talking about in this thread.

You know, now I'm not so sure anymore. I can see where the OPs verbiage could be interpreted as changes within 24 hours of the flight.

Well, if I had to bet, I'd say that reading between the lines suggests he is talking about changes within 24 hours of purchase. But it's definitely not clear.
