I'm sorry, but this simply isn't true. The whole concept of different stations having different GS requirements is a myth.

Gotcha, I originally thought the threshold was the same across the board, but until some mentioned different stations have varying level of requirements :o It made business sense though, which is why I fell for it!

Got any comments on my other arguments? :p

I missed that. All I read was that the benefit extended to presidential Platinum members of a free card is ended. I didn't see anywhere that the card or its benefits to paying cardholders has changed.

Neither did I! I believe the discussion only specified that the waived fee for the PP MC, as a benefit for Pres Plat members, was being discontinued.

During 2011: If I fly 40k miles on united and 110k miles on continental, after they merge my accounts: would they credit me the additional 2 swu and 4 cr-1?

Doubtful, as the proposed merging of OP & MP is slated for 2012, and there has not been any details released as to what the merged program is going to look like!

They did say they'd merge 2011 EQM/EQP for 2012 status. The question about SWU & RU is a good one... totally unclear. Also assumed but not stated is what they're doing with "lifetime" miles.

New OP changes thread?

I have tried to locate the new thread of OP changes for specifically SWU changes, but I couldn't find it. I have called OP regarding the start date of all the re-qualified/newly-qualified 100k OP PLTs for 2011. The SWUs would be deposited to our OP accounts on July 15, 2011, and the SWUs have to be used and traveled by July 31, 2012 or you would lose them. Does anybody have any latest information for SWU extension policies?
