Fee to replace lost paper ticket

I read on the CO Web Site effective 11-1 there is a $150.00 fee to replace a lost paper ticket. They can't be talking about a E ticket. You can print out as many of these as you want at the airport or on-line. What is a paper ticket if not an E-Ticket.

This has been discussed before. This is for a printed ticket. Remember when you actually got printed tickets? Made out of paper. Weird rectangular card stock?

lol

Just another push towards sending the paper ticket the way of the dinosaur.

I was stuck with paper tickets for 1 trip in the past 5 years, and it was a fairly unpleasant experience. At one point they had to hold up departure of a flight (just for a moment) because the GA hadn't collected my ticket and someone had to come on board to retrieve it. Also the odd looks I got when traveling with it by airline staff was off-putting.

To me paper tickets are kind of like paying with silver dollars. It works, but gets you strange looks and reactions.

I've never had much of a problem with it. I seem to get a paper ticket about once a year for some obscure carrier combination on a ticket.

I also get them from time to time during reroutes and IRROPS or reroutes (though never from CO -- CO will spend half an hour making a difficult e-ticket work rather than printing to paper and using a stapler) because e-tickets are "efficient."

I think someone's youth is showing.

You aren't very old, are you? Teenager, perhaps?

I even remember the good 'ol paper tickets and I'm only in my mid twenties.

The last time I saw one of the "paper" tickets was when some group business travel was arranged through some infrequently used third-party travel service.

It's not just limited to CO. I've had the same issue, where CO will go out of it's way to rewrite a reservation to retain a valid eticket.

I've also had the most unpleasant experience with DL where the agent actually completely hosed my reservation, but some how managed to get my first segment correct, but all the re-routing was hosed. The poor agent in dallas had no idea what he got himself into. He was so enraged he issued me paper tickets and profusely apologized to me for the other agents destroying my eticket. To his benefit, he did give me the chance to keep my eticket, but he told me it would take him 5 minutes to issue it as a paper ticket or 30 minutes on hold with DL reservations to keep it an eticket. Sometimes it is just much faster to issue the paper ticket and keep the line moving. Slightly OT, but FWIW.

You just reminded me of all the downsides of paper tickets! It seemed like almost every flight there was some passenger with a glitch (usually the agent pulled the wrong coupon in xxx and the agent at IAH had to straighten it all out -- all the while making the passenger feel like it was his/her fault).

Whose fault could it be? The CO culture doesn't allow for CO to be at fault, even if they are!

I remember when etickets first arrived and folks were reluctant to let go of that precious piece of paper. What if the computer messed up and lost their ticket?

And before card stock the tickets were on a slick stock and the various segments were red-colored carbons.

Wrong again Kimosabe. They are "cost effective" (reduce transactional costs)
