No one's calling you a LIAR....we are however getting a little tired of being berated and picked apart just for offering advice (which YOU solicited I might add). If you don't like the advice you've been given (including a summary of the airline's policy given by one of the most respected employee/members of this board and former baggage service employee), then I suggest you take your gripe directly to Continental because you're obviously not interested in anything that anyone here has to say.

This thread was painful to read.
The OP has a few choices:

1. Drive back to the airport, and show a rep the damage. Sorry, you will have to pay for gas and tolls. It is unfortunate you did not notice the damage at the airport, but things like this happen.

2. Continue to post here sarcastically towards anyone who is offering you what CO's policy is. Stating fact does not equate agreeing with it.

3. Fly another airline, and become GOLD elsewhere. If CO is so bad, you should not give them your business. Oh, and don't check guitars on United, or Pets on American.

4. Buy yourself a shinny new bag, and be done with it.

Sorry to disagree with you on this pt, he is very interested with what others have to say , that is as long as you agree with his Conclusions of things and what CO should do about making him whole as he deems it should

Otherwise you Right

just Luv these people who come asking for Advice thinking they are 100% correct and Everyone will back them and put down CO in this case, and when that doesnt materialize they go after those who disagree like an attack dog

Is it less stressful on your back when you pick up your bag anecdotally?

What matters is what I happened to witness as I was picking up my bag anecdotally at Carousel 6. The Baggage desk WAS closed.

Unless you are calling me a LIAR - in which case there is no point in carrying on this conversation with you.
Wow. I would try to relax and stop acting like a child on here and flaming every flyertalk member who is trying to help you left and right.

Just my $0.02 mr gold elite.

Can you make a stop motion video of the entire process to retrieve your bags anecdotally?

I think with a good sound track and some post production work it may be the next youtube sensation.

Well, I've never been accused of being the "CO Lovefest" Posterboy!

I just noticed 16 of your 18 posts/rants have been in this thread yet I don't believe anyone has welcomed you to FT.

Anyway it was fun watching you "CO Lovefest" poster boys in action the last few days. Turns out that CO replaced my damaged bag with a BRAND NEW SHINY one. In addition they are also looking into reimbursing" me for my gas, tolls and parking to the airport.
Perhaps I should apply for "CO Lovefest" Membership now !
See you all again - the next time I have a DAMAGED Bag !

PS: I promise to make that video and show off my new shiny bag in that video clip as well
