Indeed. New Mexico and Eastern Arizona isn't going to be much better.

:-:Pro-Tip:-:

When you get through Texline and into Clayton, be careful to stay on 64W/87N.

will persist for about 80 miles, but then if you merge right it just keeps getting better and better for the next 200+ miles. @:-)

That was faster than when you were calling them a few weeks ago when we were at the beer and sausage place.

And US could get him all the way to FLG...usually not too expensively either. Plus that Dash-8 flight could be a ride on the right day.

Just checked into a Hotel Indigo for the first time. Like so many other Intercontinental brands, it seems to try very hard to be something other than a spruced-up Holiday Inn, yet, still falls short on the polish and details. Case in point the front desk person who checked me in was trying to be overly helpful, to the point she refused to hand me my credit card, room key, and folio to sign across the counter, and instead picked everything up and walked about 20 feet in a big circle to bring it around front to me, and then stand there while I dealt with it all. She then escorted me to the elevator and insisted on pushing the buttons for me, awkwardly standing there staring at me while waiting for the elevator to arrive. I was upgraded to a rather large "executive" suite, but the executive floor here basically means "top floor" (no lounge or anything), and the suite is lacking on furniture. It's way too big for the furniture that's in it, so it just looks sparse. Then there's the typical issue with cleanliness that I find in so many Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express hotels the lamp shades are kind of dusty, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom is just nasty. I don't think it's ever been cleaned. It's not a bad place, and staying next door to The Galleria on a weeknight in a suite of this size for $85/night is hard to beat. However, the experience down the street at the Aloft for about $15 more is, overall, a better one.

So, now that I've tried it, and earned my Crack the Case bonus for staying in two brands, and earned the 5,000 or so points this single night, $85 stay will get me, I'll probably go back to the Starwood properties in the neighborhood for future stays.

US doesn't serve AMA. I was referring to the route he drove.
