I originally had a 3-segment route US-US-CO, but changed to a 2-segment US-US route out of convenience when space opened (and with the knowledge/experience that the CO space out of SFO would likely never open to make it an all-CO itin anyway).
You can debate all you want about whether US and CO F are comparable (heck, on short pretzel only routes US is actually better from a service standpoint). The fundamental difference is I don't fly (anyone) for the amenities.
I travel to get places. Within a reasonable window of when I was scheduled to arrive there. US fails at that.

US beat CO in on-time performance in the last four reported quarters, as well as the cumulative last 12 months, according to the DOT.
The only month in the latest report where CO beat US was in Jan. 2010, but when you roll that into the 3 months ending Jan. 2010, US ends up beating out CO for the 3-month period, not to mention the whole year.

It always amazes me that people who have a tendency to be cold don't bring their own means of bundling up. Even people who don't have that tendency should know that, if you don't control the thermostat and you're in a public place, chances are the temp might not be to your liking and you should bring something just in case.
Nothing sucks worse than a hot airplane...especially when the guy next to you has already had a long day.

Just to play devil's advocate, how did CO change to be the same/worse than US? I mean, the only things that changed this year was the elimination of free meals this fall and Extra Legroom...other than that, economy is the same as it was last year. The meal we got was next to nothing.
So... how does this make CO equal or worse to/than US?

The thing about this reply is that I am starting to agree with Channa
Does the management of CO have an 800 number to Phx??
We now get, in Y, no pillows or blankets, pay for your IFE, and soon pay for your food in seats that can only be described as unspacious (sic). I can understand that if you are losing money then you need to do things to stem that. However, as US has shown, you truely can turn your product into a parody of a travel experience. I really do not wish that to happen at CO.

No more pillows or blankets in Y (same as US), no pillow in F (worse than US), no more free IFE in Y (same as US), pay for specialty cocktails in F (worse than US). All these happened in the past 12 months, IIRC.
Obviously CO has the DTV (free in F, pay in Y), and glassware and such. But there's not much difference anymore between the two carriers.

Interesting...strangely enough, for some reason, I always kind of saw CO and US as two similar airlines, while UA/DL were similar... AA being kind of the "standout." It seems to me like CO is really going downhill lately. Is DL the only legacy now still giving free snacks (Biscoffs and pretzels) in Y?

But from a value perspective, DL probably offers the most for Y travellers -- snack item with choice, free LiveTV, comp beer/wine on TATL, etc.

Also, there is B6. While they don't provide overseas service, they have plentiful snacks, free LiveTV, free first checked bag (which DL doesn't have for non-elites or those not flying F), and at least 32" seat pitch on their E-190, with a minimum of 34" on their A-320, with 38" in the EML's seats.

As a recent, new-to-CO flier who used to fly mainly DL, I am very surprised that CO does not provide pillows in F. I like the pillows on DL because they at least helped provide back and neck support.
Please count my vote as also being in favor of keeping cabins cool.
