My last EUA happened on Monday. The return leg is not upgraded yet, although there are plenty of seats and I should be among the first as a Plat on a Q fare.

There is lots of maintenance and conversion going on with the computers right now and perhaps they needed the processing power usually used by EUA to make the changes needed to convert from Sky to Star.

I called the Elite desk where the agent gave me the normal 'the system will take of it' but when I pointed out that a few flyers are noticing the lack of EUA and my flight at T30 is only at 2/20, she put me on hold, spoke with a supervisor and immediately gave me the upgrade. Yes, it is a mess but eventually it should all work out at some point. Good luck all!

who did you call? Internet support?
I'm guessing that works only with a plat that's ahead on the list, right?

I called the plat line. She checked with the internet desk for me and fixed it.

I just called reservations twice and they both said NO.

Due to the transition over the weekend, all upgrades being done at flight time and "corporate" told them not to do any upgrades over the phone.

I guess I need to get there early and there will be lots of fun to be had.

At least when it is over we will be in Star Alliance!

Same thing here, although I'm only gold. The woman wouldn't even tell me my place in line...

IAH to PHX on Oct24...

I was watching the flight since an EUA hadn't come thru (Plat). Was booked 4 out of 20 seats so thot it was a little odd that they'd be holding back so many seats for sale. Particularly since the number of days till departure kept getting closer and closer with no change in the F bookings (nor re-allocate a few more seats to the EUA bucket).

This was the return portion of my trip. When I checked in for the outbound, I selected the "auto check-in" function for the return. When I woke up that morning I had my e-boarding pass on my smart phone and I had been upgraded.

I came to the self conclusion (which has been mentioned here) that they must be doing a lot of program updates and/or conversions to get rid of SkyTeam and introduce :-:A. That EUA was probably a low priority program so might be turned off except for the "24 hour" run.

Bottom line: while I didn't have the luxury of being upgraded until day of departure, the upgrades appeared to be run in order with no battlefield issues.

Well, I will see on Tuesday what happens. 24 hours is better than the hassle at the gate where they are calling out 10-20 names all at once and then reorganizing coach to fill the seats that were made available.

Myself & Mrs. Orlandoflyer got upgraded about 15 minutes prior to the 24 hours window for the flight tomorrow. We changed flights under the 24 hour rule (no charge) and the same thing happened on the new flight.

There is definitely something screwy with the EUA application. Be much better if CO came out and told us what is going on with EUA rather than try to ignore/hide/pretend nothing is wrong/etc. with EUA.

Just my humble thought.

If CO were to announce,"Yes, we know there's an issue..." or, "Yes, we've curtailed the EUA process to only run at T-24 and T-3..." they would be inundated with calls from elites at each upgrade window asking, "Where's my upgrade? There's plenty of seats open up front, why can't you manually upgrade me?" Furthermore an upgrade at any window is completely at CO's discretion. If they want to hold back the F seats for whatever reason, wether it be potential sale or temporary suspension of the EUA process, that's completely their prerogative.
