Hey OP16. I was just comped a 1/6 barrel of Odell's 90 Schilling. Can I come party with you? I promise to keep my Texas jokes to myself. :D

I think that's all a little overkill for what you're going to get in Dallas. :)

I thought you'd quit making predictions. :D

From me, too. I was feeling guilty about leaving Mr. Tb in the Panhandle to brave Ike alone until I saw that it was veering west.

CNN just announced that this storm will definitely head right over Houston.... I hope all FTers in its path do all they can to be safe. GOOD LUCK!

I'm flying through DFW (on my way to ATL) on Saturday evening, and so far, there has been no announcement by AA indicating that rescheduling will be necessary for DFW flights. So far, it looks like there shouldn't be a problem. Let's hope it stays that way.

In any event, we are staying in Houston and are just going to ride it out.

Worst case: no work on Monday. :D

Our Houston office closed for Friday already.

Good luck Houston!

My head quit hurting and the pressure in the storm went up a bit. Perhaps I should work at Weather.com

The Chicago Cubs, who were scheduled to play in Houston this weekend are returning to Chicago instead. The first two games of the series have been postponed. Pretty ridiculous. They should have sent the teams north to play in Chicago, St. Louis or Atlanta.

Good luck Houston and Houstonians, and thanks for the past week!

btw, fly2houston.com is reporting that IAH and Hobby are shutting down tomorrow at 14:00CST until further notice.

Is the statement that the NHC issued in the last hour or so common? I don't believe I've heard such strong wording from them before...

KTRK-TV just reported (18:45 CDT) that Hobby would be closing at 09:00 (they confirmed 14:00 for Intercontinental).

Listening to CNN right now.... this is major.... over a million people already have left Houston.... and the waves of water expected are going to be major.

Anyone who stays is risking death according to the latest warnings... that is the strongest warning I have ever heard.

The guys on the Weather Channel have said that they are in Storm Alert which is a very rare event.

I'm worried folks.

Truly worried!

Folks are stuck on the highway doing about 7 miles per hour.

I'm worried that they will be stuck on the road when the storm hits.

People were told by the Houston radio stations not to take I-45 North but to head West on I-10 and eventually to I-35 out of San Antonio.

Oh dear!

I wish the cable news stations would stop talking about Palin and start talking about the 4th biggest city in the USA heading for trouble.
