There was some talk between Jackal, Beckoa and the group at this years' BRW DO of a 2018 AK DO with the highlight being a visit to Cordova. They are waiting until the 2018 Summer Alaska Ferry schedule is announced to see if that is possible as an overnight trip. Cordova is a semi-remote Alaska town with lots to keep people busy for a couple of day and the ferry would be a great experience. More to come (I assume)

They're still only listing sailings through April 2018. I've been checking every week or so for updates. There have been rumors that they're putting the fast ferry (which would make it a ~3h trip) back on next summer, but we won't know until the schedule comes out.

The fast ferry was put on the CDV route this fall I guess.

So perhaps it will stick?

Of course it is still on and we assumed you would be there. Glad you have confirmed.

The menu will include Boeuf Bourgignonne a la Julia Child (as usual) and whatever else gets plopped down on the table. Sides and appetizers to be provided by those in attendance. I still need to get with Beck about the shiny lights in the sky.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Merry Christmas! Looking forward to ringing in the New Year in ANC. And raiding my remote cellar...

Arrive 12/29.

Was either 8K, 10k or 16K can't recall.

Not as many this year, but still some fun stuff.

I'll be popping past in November later this year (yes shut up, I know what the weather could be like haha!) from around the 8th, I think, before taking the train to Fairbanks on Sunday 11th... Some pre-Christmas cheer wouldn't be a bad idea.
