I would likely be interested in the IMAX show. Might as well since we'll be there anyway.

Want to share the cost of a hotel room friday night (Dec. 7)?
For Friday night only, I have a Marriott room in the suburbs and plan to take the metro into town on Saturday (takes about 40 minutes all together). I could even pick you up from the metro or something on Friday (after 5 pm or so) if needed. The rate is great, PM me if interested. |
Please include me in your dinner numbers

Breakfast/Brunch -- Sunday AM
As I think I alluded to earlier, I'm planning to do breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning at Teaism. Everyone's welcome. I've got a flight out of DCA at 12:58pm, so not to feel rushed at breakfast, I plan on being there at 9am when they open (also means first choice of seating if we have a group ;)).
I'm going to go to the one by Dupont Circle since that's where I'll likely end up getting a PL hotel and it's in the neighborhood of Brickskeller as well. Maybe this can also be added to the original post, or wherever the itinerary is being kept? ----- What: Sunday Brunch Time: 9am Location: Teaism (Dupont Circle location) 2009 R St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20009 Website (incl. menus, teas offered, etc.): teaism.com Google Map: Click Here Attending SchmutzigMSP Maybe GrizShel mot29 |
Alas, you'll have to take me off the "possible" list... I will be traveling -- and the only mileage I'll be earning is 48.5 cents :( -- so I won't be able to make it.
Have fun, everyone! |

Alright, so we are locked into taking a private tour, should be fun. I'll work out whether we can still meet at the 747 and let you know. |
Folks, we'll follow the Smithsonian's recommendations as follows:
It would probably be easier for everyone if you met near the Welcome Desks. There is a large pole that reads "Visitor Information" visible from both entrances, just a few yards away from both Welcome Desks. Your tour will begin at the South Welcome Desk, which is located on the Independence Avenue side of the museum. Your tour guide's name is Eleanor, and she will be wearing a name tag, and should be easy to find. We hope you have a great visit! |

I'm due to land at DCA 12:18pm Saturday barring any delays from CO and going through EWR. If I'm cutting it close, does anyone have any bag storage recommendations if I have to go straight to NASM from DCA?
* A visitor bag check is in effect in all Smithsonian Museums, this will delay your entry into the Museum. Please do not carry bags or backpacks into the Museum unless it is absolutely necessary. .... please call the Welcome Desk at 202-633-2211. |
Alas, I have to move to the impossible list, too. Unexpected family matter has come up for Saturday.

Most impressed - FTers get so much special treatment! ^ I'm posting this from the HNL WC - Betty insisted that I take pictures of this DO and show them to her. I promised I'd get them over to Jon, too, in case he wants to put them on RADAR. :) |
