Wow!! Just trying to take a quick look at our progress, and look at all of the folks that are joining our Elite group! Welcome all! Good thing we are not planning to first congregate outside the museum - not good for large groups of folks obsessed about airline travel to do such things these days.

I think Hawaii is so far our greatest distanced traveled to do this mini-do winner. Now come on folks, we need some international flare! Who is going to cross the Pond, the Lake, or the Gulf to join us? :D

My other choice seems to be a visit to WPAFB museum & BBQ in the DAY area. More likely that I'll stay in DC for the weekend, though, so put me as possible.

Yeah, but come on... those of us flying SFO-EWR-DCA are definitely crossing more lakes than you are :P

Well... I'll be over water for a fair bit of the 216 miles ITO-HNL, basically all of the 2556 or so miles HNL-LAX, LAX-MSP looks like it goes over Lake Mead NV and some wide bits of the Missouri River in SD (Lake Francis Case?), and MSP-EWR should go over at least Lake Michigan and Lake Erie.

I'd better pay attention when they get to "in the event of a water landing..." :D

Wait, are you guys connecting in EWR on Sat? If so, we could do a pre-mini-do mini-do, a.k.a. dash from Terminal A to Terminal C and hope to catch our flight. ;)

Not me - the 8th is in the middle of a week I'll be on the east coast visiting family, friends and colleagues. Of course, the mini-DO was a factor in my deciding to even make the trip. ;)

If the Atlantic is a pond, then those hardly qualify as lakes. :) But I guess HI to the west coast counts as half a lake and L. Michigan counts as a puddle, I suppose. ;) Come'on now, folks the world is small for us Flyertalkers.

Halifax to Shannon is shorter than Honolulu to Los Angeles. What was that you were saying about half a lake? ;)

Take some time to look at these, and tell us what your take is on dinner. I've only eaten at Jaleo - loved it! (just remember that a Tapah is served as a small appetizer-like portion).

Some of these restaurants are somewhat pricey (especially if you are drinking very much), which I am ok with, but if you want to propose an alternate location for drinks / dinner, please post!

A possible site for drinks could be "My Brother's Place", a small, inexpensive bar conveniently hidden and tucked into an inconspicuous little corner, right off of the mall.

(Btw, if you google map it, it looks like it's right on 395 - however, the freeway is underground, and on the surface you have absolutely no indication that it's there).
